Trouble w/dining ressies ??

As far as our class was told DVC and concierge are at the top, then TIW, cast at the bottom. I am not sure how they would know what you were unless it is saved in your profile (saved with your name or linked to a reservation.) I don't see any reason to hide this either. Disney decided to build it into their system. Bad decision, bad new system. The old one was far superior.

Well I'm DVC so I guess that's good for me but not so much for the others. I wonder if this had any bearing on my reservations? I didn't call until 9am on my 90 day mark and I got everything I wanted at the times I wanted including Le Cellier and 'Ohana.

BINGO! This explains why some were calling at 90 + 10 and could get nothing at Le Cel or ohana before 9 PM........

If they want to keep certain restaurants for certain classes, then they should make that KNOWN when they run their promotions. I guess they like all the bodies the promotion brings in during hurricane season, but didn't like the downside of having all their tables booked!!!!!!

If this is true, it has 'class action lawsuit' written all over it. Also, if Disney thinks we don't 'deserve' to eat at preferred locations/times because we are on free dining, they can keep the $3,500 we're paying to stay at the Poly and I'll take my money and my vacation to any number of great vacation spots that are hurting due to the economy. I'm sure anyplace else would be delighted to have all us Disney Outcasts. Jeez, now I'm really irritated.

I usually don't get irritated like this but gosh darn it I'm mad! :scared:

I can understand your frustrations I don't believe they are doing anything legally wrong. I don't think a class action lawsuit would stand. I mean there are tons of businesses that cater to "classes". They can make the rules and they can give different levels of service as them desire.

For example, I have an entertainment book with Buy 1 get 1 free meal at a local Japanese restaurant but the restrictions are the that free meal be only chicken. If I chose to pay for the meal, I can get shrimp or lobster. They are not wrong to do this.

I'll give Disney a chance with my next vacation. If I feel like I'm being discriminated against (dang it I deal with sexism, racism and now Disneyism :lmao:) I will cancel my vacation and go elsewhere. Puerto Rico has been calling my name and so has Jamaica and Aruba! :thumbsup2

Well ya know, it may not be legally wrong, but it's sure morally wrong and misleading. If I can't dine at the hi-end restaurants I guess I can move my resort from Poly to one of the mods and save a ton of money.

I trained on the new dining system. It is true. The class was shocked. I say bring back the old DRS! I am guessing Rusty Scupper trained on it too or knows people in concierge, Central Res, etc..

1) Yes.
2) When I got training, I was petrified than Disney made a caste system.
3) Most of us in-the-know are really upset.
4) Just because you stay Value and on Free Dining, you get last ADR choice.
5) The only ones below you are TIW and CM's arranging meals for themselves.
6) And people PAY for the TIW card!
7) Let's face it, there is now a food chain for ADR's.
. . . pay big bucks for Club Floor without Free Dining and get top priority
. . . pay little bucks and stay Value Resort, get low priority.
. . . get Free Dining and get even lower on the food chain.

NOTE: To me, this is morally wrong and against Walt's ideals. He always said you should have to pay more to get better service. Oh well, so much for Walt. Now we have Ogre (I mean Iger). And some of you thought I was kidding.

Our visit was May 14-18. We called for ADRs and were told that both Spoodles and San Angel Inn would be closed at the time of our visit. We made other ADRs, though disappointed.

When we were finally there for the actual visit, we found Spoodles open after all. Thankfully the wait was not long and we were able to enjoy a meal there.

I never checked on the San Angel Inn - our time at the World Showcase was cut a little short. But I was very disappointed in ADRs telling us something that was not the case.

We were there on the 19th and it was open. We thought about eating there, but went to Tutto instead.

I will be making my very first ADRs in a few weeks. Hearing all of these stories is making me very nervous.

:sad2:

I will be staying at a mod and paying for the dining plan. Not going during free dining. I hope I get what I want. DH and I already spoke and if we feel that it's a PIA to get ADR's and feel like we are being discriminated against we will cancel and go elsewhere.

FWIW, I was able to get most of what I wanted, :woohoo:including LeCellar and CRT. I am staying at the Poly and paid for the dining plan and I was not able to get Ohanas on any night. That was really the only one I was disappointed about. :sad1: We will be there Aug into Sept.:dance3:

Everything comes with strings. We were brought into this world on a string (medicine calls it a "cord", but that's semantics). I'm sure that because I'm on the 4/3 special, my room is going to be in the far back staring at the tall grass and dirty water.

1) Don't give up yet.
2) Just find a Concierge with a Dining Override Code.
3) The code gets you a ressie at any ADR restaurant.
4) Even at the last minute.
5) Each resort has at least one, sometimes two with such ability.

NOTE: Any person that can make ADR's sometimes see ressies in "RED". These are overbookings put in by an override, and can be for Vice-President friends, or marketing friends, or people the concierge just wanted to help. For some eateries, like CRT, there could be 20-40 of these daily. The eatery must put them into the normal order, as if the ADR was not overbooked. Of course, this backs up other ADR's. Such is life.
