Trouble using Disney VISA Rewards...

I received a $15 Disney card after opening my Disney VISA this past winter. I tried using it at Walmart tonight and it wouldn't work. The cashier called some number to see if there was still an available balance - and there was. She and her supervisor tried all kinds of things but couldn't get it to work.

Has anyone else had trouble spending their Disney rewards? Any tips on how to get mine to work?

:confused3

Your Visa Rewards card is NOT a credit card/gift card. It can only be used in certain places, most notably WDW, and DL. You can use for online shopping at disneyshopping.com but I am not sure about using it at the Disney Stores--now that they are back under Disney ownership I would think so.

There are also places on the rewards site that you can order movie tickets for Disney releases. But they can only be used for Disney movies, not just any movie.

Your Rewards card does not work at any retail store. This is why Walmart couldn't take it. You may want to go to the Rewards site online and read through the information provided there, and you should also have gotten a brochure in the mail that explains how to use the card and where you can use it.

You can use your Disney Gift Card at the Disney Store. I'm not 100% sure if you can use it at a store that is closing, but if the store is not closing you can use it at any time.

:)

I went to Chase's website and read thru their brochure a bit. I misunderstood. Apparently I can request the reward dollars to be issued as a check - and then I would be able to take that check to Walmart to buy the Disney movie I tried to buy the other night.

The trouble with my memory...

LOL! Happens to the best of us. I didn't even know you could do that. I always just save up my points and use them at WDW. Usually we have enough to cover our food and it really helps the budget.

I'm hoping to use our reward points for a splurge like BBB for our two girls. I don't want the $15 I got for signing up for the VISA to expire before we get to Disney. We don't have a Disney store nearby...I'll have to see if there's a spot on the internet I can use it up at.

Disney gift cards don't expire! That is one of the best things about them! I would check to make sure that they don't, but you should be OK. Now, when you get your first rewards card, the points on there will expire eventually, but the date is clearly stated on the front of the card.

Hope that helps a bit! :)

I had a rewards card that had almost $200 on it a few years ago and it took
care of many of our incidentals. It was wonderful. WDW accepted it every-
where. :thumbsup2

Just to be clear about Disney Reward and Reward Cards:

Your POINTS have a specific expiration date. That will be shown on your credit card statement.

The Reward CARD has a specific expiration date shown on the front of the card. Any points you have transferred to the card will expire if the card expires. I don't move points to it until I am ready to spend them and know I will use them all.

In fact I use them to pay my room charges at Disney and get my bill, then call Disney Visa and have them transfer the exact amount I need so I don't risk losing them.

I am not familiar with Disney Gift Cards, but they are different from the Reward Card.

OP your best bet is probably to use the card you have at www.disneyshopping.com . You can always find something there that you need!;)
