Trouble printing on magnet paper

I looked at FAQ and can't find the right help - maybe there is no help for me...

I am trying to print the wonderful DISigns I received here on magnet paper for our cruise door. I have two printers - one is laser jet which smears. The paper itself says to use an ink jet printer. So I tried that printer, but the paper is too thick and it jams my printer - it won't print on it/read the paper/etc.

I think I understand the DIS rules that I cannot being my file to Kinko's and pay to have it printed on magnet paper - what other things can I try?

What is your printer model?

You need to feed them 1 sheet at a time. And you probably need a straight through feeder instead of a tray that will require the paper to curl.

Mine does feed through the back so it curls it - only loaded the one sheet but no good. When I get home I'll see if there is a manual feed another way.

Hi There Sorry to hear you are having printing problems

On the printer that smears are you using a glossy paper? If so it might help to use the printer glossy or photo printing setting.
I personally did not like the magnet paper because my magnets fell off the door, too many paint layers I think. Anyway because the paper was so expensive I did most of my magnets on Card stock and then used magnet strips on the back. If you want them to be sturdier you could print on cardstock
or even plain paper, laminate them then apply the magnets. I hope this helps

I have never been on a cruise but I can second Roxie's suggestion of using magnetic tape,
I decorate my resort doors all the time.

I bought it at Michaels but you might be able to get it at the dollar store.
