Trouble getting AAA discounts at the parks...

It's been 2 years since we were at Universal, but in 2014 we got AAA discounts everywhere. On our trip this past weekend, we did not get one AAA discount. It has been posted before that there are no AAA hotel rates this year (except for Sapphire Falls). Nowhere in the HP lands do they accept the AAA discount. At the sweets shops, they only took AAA discount if you bought $50+ of purchases. We never bought that much worth of sweets at once!

At Mythos and Finnegan's we asked about the AAA discount, and they said they only accept it if you have a discount card by booking a AAA package, and not just for having a regular AAA card.

So we didn't get one AAA discount over 3 days.

Anyone else have trouble getting AAA discounts?

If you buy your park tickets from AAA, you get a discount card which will allow you a 10% discount on purchases of $50 and over at UO

Without the discount card, you can not get a AAA discount

Better to use your card on auto needs

I have the card and it has been great for me when I have auto issues

Use their website to book hotels and packages

They switched their policy.

In 2011 we just showed our AAA card no problem (usually the place had the AAA logo on the door as well). Now you have to buy your park tickets through AAA which will then give you a discount card. I'm kinda bummed about that for our trip next year as we did use it multiple times when we last went but we'll deal.
