We are planning a late August/September trip to do Mnsshp. Right now I have GF booked for the entire stay because we got a great rate through ***....however now my kids are asking if we can do a split stay and end at Boardwalk resort! What are people's thoughts on these two resorts?? we LOVE the poly but want to try somewhere new. My kids think the pool at Boardwalk looks cool!. Was thinking we could do a few nights at GF to do MK/ party and then head to Boardwalk to do Epcot/DHS.
Kids will be 6, 9, 11. which resort would everyone recommend??
thanks

Grand Floridian. Im a poly lover as well and nothing beats staying in the magic kingdom area/seven seas lagoon. You will be a short and beautiful walk from the poly so you can visit anytime. I just tried the Epcot area for the first time (yacht club) and it doesn't have the magic that the magic kingdom area has. I didn't feel like I was staying in disneyworld. I felt like I was in a normal hotel close to Epcot. If you decide to do a split stay, I would end with the Grand. You will fall in love with it.

I like the split stay idea. The GF is a beautiful resort, but the Epcot resort area is great (BC is our favorite resort). We've never stayed at BWI, DD hates the look of the pool, but you can't beat that area. A split stay would be the best of both worlds!

BLT, VGF, BWV and BCV are my top 4 favorite resorts! I would do a split stay if your kids are up for it; the only drawback is having to pack up and move. I also happen to like the BWI/BWV pool. The only suggestion I'd have would be to end your stay at the GF rather than BWV. If you start out there, you will not want to leave.

If you don't mind moving, I think a split stay is a good idea. We love the GF and while we haven't stayed at BWI, it gets a lot of positive reviews. Good luck and happy planning :wizard:.

We are doing a split stay this summer with our first half at BWI. We have 3 kids 9-15 and they all love BWI. We love the walk to Epcot and the boardwalk is a fun resort. I like your plan for GF for MK and the party and moving to BWI for some Epcot area fun. Have a great time!!

We have done that same split a couple of times. We enjoy the hectic pace of the GF first and do the MK and the AK parks while we are there. No matter were you stay if you don't have a car (and we never do) the bus is the only option for the AK. Then when we switch to the BWI we can walk to Epcot and HS and we usually walk over one evening and get in a round of mini golf as well. When my son was young he really loved the pool and clown slide at the BWI and we also would make sure to spend one evening watching the entertainment on the boardwalk. Now as we get older and travel without our son we spend most of our time staying at the BWI. Whatever you decide have a great time!

The Epcot area is our favorite. We’ve stayed at the Swan several times as well as BC. We are staying at YC this year. We have stayed at the Contemporary and it was pretty great to walk to MK but we keep going back to Epcot area. I love being able to walk to Epcot or HS it jump on the boat to HS. The Boardwalk is fun for the kids when we are having a night outside of the parks. If you’ve never stayed, it’s worth giving it a try.

Thank you everyone! I think we are leaning towards a split stay now after reading reviews....I want GF and the price you can't beat....then we will switch to BW for the kids (although the pool looks creepy to me! LOL)

The BWI pool has THE best slide on property.

Yes, I would do it, especially with the heat in August/September. You will be SO happy being closer to the parks you are visiting. And my DS10 claims the BWI pool is the best on property!

My 9yo DS would agree. It’s his favorite pool!

A split sounds great, agree with above poster. The heat will be intense and being close to the park will be a great way to take a daily break.

Love BW!! Walking on the BW can be so hot, it's like the heat just jumps up off the boards.

Okay so my plan was based on the party being held end of August. What if the party is only September. Should I switch and do BW first ?
