We are FINALLY taking another disney family vacation in Nov. We will need 2 rooms. My mother, brother, sister-in-law have never stayed on-site monorail. I would love to pay the difference and have them experience the Poly, but I am having a hard time making up my mind. It would cost me around 1000.00 extra for each room. I wish I understood more about AP, and mousesavers etc.....

I haven't been to the Poly since before the renovation. Has the Poly changed that much? The pool area? Would a 7 year old like this??

Also can you smoke on the balconies? My sister only smokes on the balconies because the smoke bothers me.

Thanks Much for all your help

I love the Polynesian resort and if you can afford it, it would be great for your relatives to stay at a monorail resort!

But in case you decide on CBR, I have many pictures and recent info on this resort, which is beautiful and has just completed having all of the guest rooms refurbished. Click on the links below!

P.S. I think a 7 yr old would love either resort! :)

Since Polynesian is my favorite resorts and CBR is my least favorite, you know which I'd pick. But, since the diff. in price is unbelievable, that would be a different story, but I would at least pick a different moderate.

Right now there are no discounts announced for November, except for DC or AAA. Other discounts, if any, will probably be announced sometime late summer.

Is anyone in your party a teacher/nurse or government employee? If you, you would qualify for a HUGE discount at Swan/Dolphin. They also have 50% off discounts. With all the discounts, it's often possible to get equal or better rates at these deluxes then even the moderates.

What part of Nov. are you planning on going? If it's around Thanksgiving, the chance of other discounts will be slim, but not unheard of. I'll be happy to help you find any discounts, so feel free to contact me now or as your trip gets closer. Dcjnwelch2@aol.com - Debbie

That's like comparing apples to oranges. CBR is a moderate and the Poly is a deluxe. If you can afford it I would go with the Poly in a heartbeat.

A 7 year old would LOVE the Poly. The new pool is lots of fun. Advantages of a Deluxe over a Moderate are -- larger rooms, room service, more than 1 sit down restaurant, interior hallways, queen sized beds. Monorail access is great with kids. You just need to decide if that's all worth the extra $$$ to your family. I would bet you could get some great rates for November, but they probably won't be out for a few more months. Keep checking out these boards. Last September I got the Poly concierge for $226 per nite (it's usually $400).

$2,000 is a pretty big difference. In my opinion, you'd be kicking yourself afterwards if you spent the extra money for very little return. I mean, Disney resorts are Disney resorts...If you were asking if you should stay at Motel 6....or Poly for the extra $2,000, you'd have to choose the Poly every time. For that huge a difference I'd choose the moderate. A 7 year old would like any of the pools, deluxe or moderate. It looks like your only decison is whether or not you want the 'novelty' of the monorail for your relatives. That may or may not be worth $2,000.

I've stayed at both and in my opinion I would opt for the CBR for the savings. The Monorail is nice but only goes to the MK and you must bus and switch monorails for all other locations. The Poly needs a new look in my opinion (I have not stayed there since the new pool). How much time do you really plan spending at your hotel?

If I had my druthers -- my choice would be the Beach Club for a premium hotel - you can't beat the location and the ambience.

No matter what you decide -- have fun!
