Hey everyone, I was thinking perhaps you could help me out. You see, after 7 or so years my lovey parents have finally decided to spring for that second WDW trip, but we are stuck as to what resort we want to go to.

We do know we want to stay at a delux (though not the Poly, only because that is where we stayed 7 years ago and we all would like to try something new). As well there will be four of us, my parents (fourty somet..... oh wait, I mean 39), my older sister (21) and myself (18). Oh, and we are food junkies. We love good food.

Any suggestions? What are your favorites and why?

What park is your fav? Based on your ages I would say that the EC and DHS area would be great. Checkout the YC/BC, BWI or the S/D. We love the Swan and find that you get the most bang for your buck so to speak at the S/D.

Actually, it's hard to say. I know my parents love EPCOT the most, my sister loves the MK the best hands down, and I couldn't pick a favorite if I had a gun to my head (though I do really like AK).

Thank you very much for the suggestions! I will look into them.

I very diverse group I can see why you are having some challenges.:) In that case go with one of these, if cost is not an issue then a lagoon view room at the YC would be amazing. You can also get some great views from the Swan/Dolphin and if you are traveling at the right time you can get some great rates. Checkout www.swandolphin.com.

I would stay at the Contemporary or the GF. Both are beautiful and you have the monorail :thumbsup2

If you're going deluxe, there's only one hotel... The Grand Floridian!! Any description I could offer would not do it justice. Once you arrive, you'll understand.

Have a great trip!!

I would pick Yacht Club for a group of adults.

You've gotten just about every opinion here except for the Poly (because you don't want it) and AKL, I think!

So are we helping you?? :rotfl:

If you want a deluxe, I would say the Polynesian (which you said you didn't want to do) or the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We don't care for the other three at all--especially the GF--it's just too fancy for our taste; Wildnerness Lodge is beautiful but again--not our taste--too outdoorsy and we dealt with some rude CM's while there a couple of weeks ago and truthfully it had a smell in the lodge area we did not like and we don't like the theme of the Contemporary at all (although we have stayed there in the past when our kids were really little).

I'd try the Boardwalk or Beach Club. You could get one of the Villa's there. We stayed at BWV last year with our 2 sons (25 & 22). We splurged and had a 2 bedroom villa and we all loved it.

I would do the GF or Contemporary. You have the monorail and at the GF you have Narcoossee's and Citricos onsite, which are both great. The Contemporary has Ca Grill and the Wave.

I would go for AKL. It is so beautiful there, so lush and green and the pool and the food can't be beat! If you want to experiance a different yet plush resort, that is definitely the place to go IMHO. Can you tell I fell in love with the place?

Have fun choosing! :goodvibes

I'd go for YC or Wl...we had the friendliest people and the best service at WL. Poly is still my fave, but since you didn't want that, i guess I'll have to stay there instead. lol.

Any questions why I got MORE confused when I started getting help from DIS'ers? :rotfl:

All I can tell you is I am a week away from a "2 adult kids, no little kids" vacation and we went with Yacht Club and AKL for slightly nicer decor and a little less kid-centered (as much as that is possible at WDW)

As this is your first trip in 7 years, I would probably go to either the GF or the YC depending if you wanted to be closer to Epcot or closer to MK.

I love the BW, BC, or YC. I like being close to Epcot & HS. The boat is a nice relaxing ride to both parks. The BW is great in the evening. What time of the year are you going?

Thank you everyone! From the suggestions here, I think we might do either the GF or the YC. We are going early May, and I just remembered that the flower and garden festival is going on, so EPCOT will probably be really popular with my group, and I know the last time we were there both my parents were drooling over the GF and said that we should go there next time.
