Has anyone out there ever stayed here or know anything about this place? It looks very appealing with the cute lil cottage type suites. The prices seem more than reasonable also. It's also walking distance to Old Town, which has lots to do in as well (or so I've read). Thanks for any info!:flower1:

I am staying there in about 3.5 months -- there are a few other threads about this place if you do a search..

I have a friend who has stayed there with her family the 4 trips they have made down to visit the mouse and they really like it .

This is a really cute place - just returned on 7/6.
The cottages were not as big as I thought but good enough to sleep in.... My hubby - 2 kids and Gram were a snug fit:D
As for it being a Resort - I've been in nicer - DON"T get me wrong!!! Really clean!!! Not a huge pool and very busy at all hours (swimming is 24 hrs) I could see it being loud if you were staying near the pool. No life guards so it did get quite rowdy at times - and with little ones it was a concern! Great place for bikes - scooters- walks etc... We drove from CT so we had all this with us. Did not see or hear about the shuttles - had our car with us. They give you a coupon book upon arrival - cute way to make you feel at home.... Free candybar in the camp store - free breakfast at poolside. Keep in mind this is a huge RV park which can create a different sort of crowd... The camp store is expensive - but in a pinch its great! Laundry is handy and they only clean your room at request. Towels are your job - a trading system in the store (not a big deal). Kitchen was well stocked and any minor problem we had they fixed right away!!
This is just what my family is geared for - others may feel its not enough luxury.... I would DEFENITY go back - if I ever have the nerve to drive again!!!:hyper:

We've stayed there twice and loved it. Loved the convenience of having the kitchen, especially for breakfast. With two little kids it's hard to do a lot of restaurant meals and I loved making them breakfast and knowing they'd had a good, nutritious "at home" meal to start the day. And the convenience of having the deck right outside for them to blow bubbles and play cars instead of being in a hotel room so much was great!

Excellent report -- Thanks so much for checking in on this thread.. I can't wait to get there and try it out -- I am almost to the double digits !! Michelle

talexfein - Did you have a studio cottage or the 2 b/r? Also, how was the drive to the parks? How far? Which park is the closest?

Sorry about all the ?s.

One more, are the cottages spread out or close together?

Thanks.:D

We had a 2br - Walk in the living/kitchen area - to the right was a step down into Queen size bedroom - above is loft (which you enter and exit into the living room area). The bed has about 1 1/2 feet till the window and walls (tight fit) plenty of drawer and hanging space for clothes. To the left as you enter was the bathroom and the 2nd bdrm. They are in groups of 5 all facing a common center with palms trees etc... little pathes connect them all - I do have pics but I won't be able to try and post til friday.
I'm not great at which park was closest - they are about a 5 - 10 min drive... Hubby got lost everytime - its a bit of a tricky drive, make sure you get them to give you a good area map and directions!!

These cottages are a lot like trailer homes - everything is in a straight line asross the front and back of the unit - not very much extra room. Hope that helps.;)

Thanks for the info. I'm looking forward to seeing your pics. :)

Is Tropical Palms walking distance to Old Town? What do you think of Old Town?

I have heard it is within walking distance and its lots of shops and food places -- I am intrested to know what its really like too.. Michelle

Old Town is with in walking distance - maybe 2 blocks or so....
It has about 30 little shops that border a road for cruise night - which is cool but very crowded and for the life of me I can't remember what night it was... Anything from tee-shirt places to mineral and rock stores to popcorn and icecream.... at either end are amusement rides (quite $$$) We did not bring our kids - Grandma was sitting - we enjoyed just holding hands ( a luxury for some of us;) ) and having an ice cream (not to mention picking from 50 popcorn flavors) Neat place for things out of the ordinary!!!
