Tropical Night Eastern Cruise

Could you share your experiences regarding Tropical Night. Other than the menu and suggested dress for the evening does anything special go on in the dining rooms?

How's the Tropical Deck Party?

Tropical Deck party is a lot of fun!!!

There is a limbo competetion in the dining rooms and a congo line and fun island music playing by a steel band. The tables are decoarated with brightly colored leis and it is a very festive atmosphere!!!

The characters make an appearance at the Deck Party and the Cruise Staff get everyone up and dancing!!! It can get loud and crowed but lots of fun....it last about 2 hours.

One note about doing the limbo in the dining rooms - make sure you get in the conga line as soon as it forms. My kids didn't get up in time and were still in line for the limbo when they had to take it down. That's why we need to go on another cruise Chip & Dale also came to the dining rooms and danced.

I'm not sure what the "surprise" is supposed to be at the deck party. It was a lot of fun. The cruise staff led everyone in some dances and then stage performers did a couple of dance numbers. And of course the characters came to to the party! There is also a buffet served on deck 9. I don't remember what was on it thought - I was still full from dinner.

Tropical night was one of my most favorite nights on the cruise! (Well, ALL of my nights were my favorites.) I loved the limbo dancing and singing. We were lucky too, that our dining rotation was for Parrot Cay that night.

Can't wait till we sail again in May!

I know that on our cruise it was Mickey's birthday so they gave him a giant card that everyone on the ship had the chance to sign & sang happy birthday. That was 11/15/03.

The characters come out & dance for a few songs during the party. There was Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip, & Dale. The kids loved it!!! There was also a great spread of desserts. Once everything died down around 11:30 my 5 yo crashed hard. I managed to grab a plate of goodies & took him to the stateroom to go to sleep.

Thanks everyone. We are trying to decide what night to go to Palos and wanted to better understand the events of Tropical Night. It really sounds like a fun time and not to be missed.
