As I recall at the time, it was a loosely interpreted vision of what imagineers living in the 1950's would think that the future would look like.Thought Disney gave up on having Tomorrowland be "realistically" futuristic years ago with the rehab in mid 90's? Wasn't the new theme "the tomorrow that never was" or something like that?
Not going to lie I always liked the idea of the future that was always interpreted by Jules Verne for tomorrowland. GAve a real distinct look
Yeah they need to at least decide on a specific futuristic theme. We all know that the current management is never going to spend the $$$ to keep updating it to "realistically" reflect the changing technology required to accurately depict the future.
I was going to out this on rumors but it looks like its confirmed http://wdwnt.com/blog/2017/07/confi...way-magic-kingdom/#232217661-tw#1499692432821
But it is not confirmed.
Disney has not confirmed it.
There is NO website out there that Disney gives info to.
While won't say never, and while it makes sense economically for Disney to replicate rides, and while Disney does make some bad decisions .... Tron does not fit with the Magic Kingdom - especially size wise. This ride will dwarf half the park, will dwarf Space Mountain and could likely be very distracting to the Castle. Big enough it will practically put a shadow over Storybook Land. I would be really sad to see this in MK.
This ride does however fit size wise, theme wise and into the footprint at Ellen's Energy. I know there is the rumor of Guardians there ... but their presence makes more sense in DHS with long term planning.
