It's because there really wasn't one. They sort of explain the story on video screens while you're in the queue but I don't think most people are paying attention, then they shuffle people into a room and have a pretty neat reveal of the final loading area. That's about it though. I'm not sure this is any different than the Shanghai version, which had opened seven years earlier.I honestly don't think I paid much attention to the Tron pre-show....I don't remember it much at all...
I think the main problem is that it was already built sitting in storage forever - in the time GotG was being designed and built to the WDW market. For all the time they had us trapped in lines the least they could have done was make it interesting and cooler (as in temps). After experiencing the massive Pre Show for GotG,was anyone else really disappointed in the lack of a great Pre Show for Tron?
I guess there wasn't enough in the budget for 2 epic Pre Shows in back to back attractions.
I just remember a woman on the screen with blue eyes saying thingsIt's because there really wasn't one. We laughed at the simplicity of the 'lockers' for Shanghai Tron - the simple put-it-on-a-cart and it'll be waiting for you at the exit when you're done! At least that was our experience when there. The double-sided lockers in WDW are interesting - they work pretty well, but seemed to confuse quite a few people. The more they use them, the better they'll be. But the ride itself is really fun! Enjoy.....Haven't been on MK's Tron yet but did Shanghai Tron a few years ago. Also did GOTG last year at Epcot.
Don't remember much of a pre-show at Shanghai Tron, possibly one of the more enduring memories of that ride was the very messy locker situation there which was not fun. Will hopefully see MK Tron in a couple of months.
I think it’s more like 20 seconds outside and 40 seconds inside.Tron is a traditional coaster a minute or so outside and a couple minutes inside.
Oh that sounds different from my experience with Shanghai Tron - remember banks of lockers outside the ride and having to look extremely hard for a locker I could use (basically like Universal but worse because no lockers were available). Plus crazy crowded which explains the lack of available lockers. This was in 2017 around their first anniversary so maybe things have changed! We laughed at the simplicity of the 'lockers' for Shanghai Tron - the simple put-it-on-a-cart and it'll be waiting for you at the exit when you're done! WDW Tron locker setup is pretty slick, drop your stuff off in a locker on one side and pick it up on the other.Haven't been on MK's Tron yet but did Shanghai Tron a few years ago. Also did GOTG last year at Epcot.

GOTG pre-show was good... the first couple of rides. After that it got a bit repetitive and I just wanted to get onto the (awesome) coaster! Plus I honestly hate the crowd control for the GOTG pre-show, the push of everyone trying to be first into the queue is just awful - so much that on my last couple of rides last year I just hung back and let everyone shove their way into the queue first before joining at the back. Just means I wait a few more minutes which I'm OK with.
2019, and perhaps it was a temporary thing, but it was wheeled carts and people moving them to the exit! The double-sided lockers work great - as long as people don't get a strap caught in the door when they close it entering the ride. We saw a couple folks who needed a cast member to go around to the other side to free up a strap!Oh that sounds different from my experience with Shanghai Tron - remember banks of lockers outside the ride and having to look extremely hard for a locker I could use (basically like Universal but worse because no lockers were available). Double sided lockers sounds like an improvement (sounds a bit like Velocicoaster? I liked those lockers at Universal last year)!
Same type of set-up for Velocicoaster at Universal.WDW Tron locker setup is pretty slick, drop your stuff off in a locker on one side and pick it up on the other.
