Tron AP preview thread

Exciting - the first thing I thought when I saw the video was that it reminded me of Hagrids as well. Just went to Universal over Christmas, and rode that several times, and it is HANDS DOWN my favorite coaster type ride. I especially liked the motorbike seat (totally different ride than the side car); but I can see that it wouldn't be for everyone. It was very smooth, and I appreciate that at my age

We were passholders at Disney for a while, and never got any emails about previews, despite being "top tier" Passholders. Just hoping this means Tron will be open for our trip in June!

"Crazy roller coaster ride" is probably a good description. It's very smooth. But for me it's terrifying. Similar ride technology as RnRC but you're riding on top of a "cycle" ride vehicle. The launch is flat (not uphill like RnRC) and there are no inversions.

TBH, I was ready for the ride to be over after the launch.

Rockn Rollercoaster's launch is flat. no incline at all.

I hope so...We are there 4/7-4/17 and I thought it would be open for our trip, but I'll be happy to sneak in either an AP or DVC preview.

We’re there for Springtime Surprise race weekend but I doubt they’ll be doing previews during that time, that seems too chaotic.

I would assume AP/DVC will be over that weekend …hoping if they aren’t restricting to upper tiers to maybe get one on my checkout day Monday the 17th

Was this supposed to open as a 50th anniversary offering? I know it was supposed to be originally but even with all the delays I can't remember if it was or not.

AP previews will be somewhere between the 9th and 20th based on this and Pirate is blocked out till the 16th

Throw in an event for the Media, and event for D23, then do previews for DVC, AP Previews wouldn't have much time before an opening on the 21st (if that's right).

Seems like the window between Disney having access to the building (no longer a construction site) and when they want to open it is going to limit the amount of "preview" experiences they can offer.

The launch is amazing, as there's effectively no ride vehicle in front of you, you're just hanging out there. Pic is of me on the front row in Shanghai.

How fast is the launch? Does it go 0-60 like rockin roller coaster or is it more like guardians? I’m talking speed only (I realize guardians is backwards).

So that appears to be official now? Awesome. As a couple others have stated, we were very fortunate to have experienced this attraction in China - and have so been looking forward to it at MK. Pandemic delays have pushed this way longer than we had originally hoped - but it's almost here now!

Now, I am not saying this is GOING to happen but here is a little story.

Back when they were doing the revamped Fantasyland previews, we were there, as regular guests and kinda walked up to “peek” into the area…

The 2 CM’s were nearby and I stared up a chat asking them what they thought about how the new area looked and how it was going.

After a few polite answers, they said, “Why dont you just go on in and take a look yourself….”

And thats how we got to enjoy the new FantasyLand , rides and restaurants during preview time without harldy any people at all in the areas.

Being nice pays off in Kharma many times.
