Tron AP preview thread

For Guardians a resort reservation was not required. Hopefully the same for Tron.
Awesome. Thanks. Were you allowed to ride gaurdians multiple times in your preview time? Thought I remember some people saying they rode a bunch of times.

Now, I am not saying this is GOING to happen but here is a little story.

Back when they were doing the revamped Fantasyland previews, we were there, as regular guests and kinda walked up to “peek” into the area…

The 2 CM’s were nearby and I stared up a chat asking them what they thought about how the new area looked and how it was going.

After a few polite answers, they said, “Why dont you just go on in and take a look yourself….”

And thats how we got to enjoy the new FantasyLand , rides and restaurants during preview time without harldy any people at all in the areas.

Being nice pays off in Kharma many times.
Unfortunately, they haven't done that format since New Fantasy Land opened.
Not to say they can't do it for Tron but they didn't do it for
Pandora
Star Wars
New rides of
Runaway Railroad
Guardians
or Rise once Star Wars was opened.

So I'd never say never but I will say highly unlikley.

How long ago was this, and what ride are you referring to as being new?

I have not read a single post on here in the past several years about anyone bypassing the lines for previewing new rides, and I can't imagine it would start suddenly with Tron.
It was 2012 and they haven't done it since

No, single ride with the AP/DVC previews
Only ones who got multiple rides are those who purchase the D23 preview spots

We rode Ratatouille as many times as we wanted. Guardians was a one time ride.

My guess is Tron will be one time like Guardians - there wasn't as much of a demand for Ratatouille IMO.

You got lucky I guess.
Our option was 1 ride on Remy too
We have never gotten multiple rides during a preview
Not by our choice at least
Guardians the coaster stopped and we got escorted off and got a re-ride
Mickey/Minnie Railway we got stopped as we exited by a CM and told our ride had a malfunction and got a re-ride (though we never have figured out what malfunctioned)
All other previews have been 1 single ride.
I wish we were offered unlimited.
Give me your secret ;)

I also had unlimited rides for Remy too- both DVC and AP previews. They checked our entry when we entered the back of the France pavilion- not at the attraction itself. So, once back there we could re-enter the line.

Guardians was only once.

Not sure 🤷‍♀️ They scanned our band at the front entrance and said we were free to stay in the area as long as we would like. CM at ride didn't scan anything.

We rode twice (walked right on both times) and that was enough for us. There didn't seem to be a huge demand that day - maybe that was the difference.

I know at least one other local friend said they rode multiple times but can't remember if more mentioned it.

I had the option to ride guardians multiple times (no one was checking, I could have walked in again) but once was enough for me.

Guess it is 100% dependent on what CM are working when you ride
We have the misfortune of going when by the book CM work
They check at the ride entrances and don't allow repeat rides.
Yes, we've had to check in at the land, when the land was part of it too but never once did we get unlimited ride chances.
So I guess maybe some get lucky but don't count on it. Just hope you get CM who are lenient.

Based on blockout dates of the lower tier passes, I'm guessing AP previews will fall roughly into the March 19-31 timeframe. We'll have a better idea when there's suddenly no MK availability for several days.

So a park reservation has been required in the past? Were they hard to get after booking your preview day?

You're assuming Disney even intends to offer AP Previews to guests with limited APs.

That's an interesting point - could be another sensitive area if they do offer it and have so many who would have APs, but can't! Then again, it's been an AP perk over the years, so I expect they will....

We were the first day, first AP preview time for GotG. We rode three times. It was glorious. Then they put the kibbosh on that. 😐

Ya, I recall got GOTG it was initially ride all you want, then was quickly changed to ride only once. I was in the ride only once category - there was no opportunity to re-enter and the line was super long if you did not get there right at your selected time.

I’m hoping four longer AP previews like with Remy. I need early March!
