Trivia Question

No, it is an attraction at WDW. One more hint for now. It has not been gone all that long but was not really around all that long either.

I'm not getting any ideas... I even looked at Walt Dated World to find names of closed attractions that I might have missed! As far as bodies of water (that aren't "rivers") that I can recall in the various parks go, I can think of: the lake in World Showcase (and the ponds next to it), Echo "lake" in MGM, and the old 20,000 Leagues pool.

The actual body of water has nothing to do with the attraction other than being by it geographically. I am not 100% sure of the actual dynamics of the body of water, but they called it a lake b/c it rhymes with mistake. The mistake by the pond, canal, river just don't sound right.

only thing i can think of is the Ak boat ride but that is a river as well...is it bigger than a bread box ?:rotfl:

Ah, when you said WDW I was looking outside of the parks heh. I had a reply window open in one tab and google in another!

I guess that makes sense. I thought about that, but couldn't make the water connection... though now I think about it, AE's backside was up against that pond.

For any AE fans out there, here is another interesting fact. The alien itself is still sitting backstage at the MK. It is just sitting out in the FL sun weathering away according to my friend.

Does anyone else know any other insider nicknames that we could guess on?

MISTAKE??????? Alien Encounter? That was one of the best rides WDW ever had. I'm sickened that they turned it into a Stitch ride - and one that, after having been on it once on each of my last trips, plan to never go on again, just because I hate the stupid "chili dog burp" so much. (Other than that, it's almost tolerable, and the tracking lasers are pretty cool.)

I can only assume that it was a combination of being too frightening, and not having a marketable character, that led to its demise. But it was gone far too soon. It also had some really pretty amazing special effects for its time.

I would assume that if the alien is lying around somewhere, it's at least in a covered area... it wasn't big enough and I don't think they generally leave that kind of thing lying around. Google Earth will show you the pile of old Nautilus submarines, though...

I've seen the action figures of the alien pop up on eBay once in a while... and the original seats from it are being sold by Mouse Surplus, I'd buy one and turn it into some kind of chair but I don't want to pay the big shipping cost. If they still have any next time we drive down instead of fly, I'll probably pick one up.

Sorry, but it is not being covered. It is in pretty bad shape from what I was told.

According to all the clocks in Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, what time was the hotel struck by lightning, stopping all the clocks?
