Trips during early May.

Early May is one of our favorite times to go, and we usually go that time every year. This year we are going the middle of May due to one of my kid's college schedule. The weather is beautiful and the crowds mostly manageable. Disney has just gotten busier in general over the past few years, IMO.



Last year? We were there May 1st to May 8th last year, but I remember rain storms all day on Wednesday May 4th that kept a lot of people out of the parks, which made MK a nightmare on Thursday! I remember it because it hasn't happened to us before on other trips and we spent the day visiting resorts and DS. Usually the weather is great with a passing shower the times we've been there.

No, 2015. It was gorgeous.

We went in 2014 and 2015 and I personally thought it was more crowded than I expected and unbearably hot. But I guess it depends on your heat tolerance. Mine is not very high.

I found it to be hot, but not humid. The humidity makes heat intolerable.

You remember correctly. We were there 4/30 thru 5/7 and there was all day rain Wed 5/4 which made for no lines that day and a really busy Thurs (DHS was pretty packed too). There was also a bad downpour on 5/2 that delayed evening entertainment and lightning the evening of 5/3 which shut down outdoor rides for a couple hours. It was in the 90s prior to the 5/4 rain which everyone told us was unusual. Not bad for FL weather, IMHO, but not without complications.

Overall, May is nice.

Oh yes! On 5/2 we were in EPCOT at Rose & Crown and Illuminations was delayed about an hour. They put the sides on the patio down for that storm.

Our other favorite time to go is the last week of September into October, but that time seems hotter to me.

The only issue we've encountered is school groups. There seems to be a lot of school trips at this time but it is still manageable and the weather is perfect.

We're going back May 1-10 this year.

We are heading down May 5th, DS last final in college is May 4th and we will be at Universal until the 8th when we head to WDW. Glad to read the good reports for May, but I'm going to be cautiously optimistic.

In 2015 I planned what I thought was going to be a perfect vacation in September-I had read about the low, low crowds and was ready to go and enjoy those light crowds for myself. Turns out there was a Jewish holiday that week and the crowds were horrible. I was so disappointed in our trip, nothing went the way I thought it would go. I will hope for the best and plan like I'm going to be there on Christmas day just in case. Just being mentally prepared for crowds I think will make a difference.

It's our fav time to go. Crowds not terrible, warm enough to swim but generally not oppressive, Flower and Garden... Crowds this year look like they've been heavier, but this is our first time with a thought out touring plan, and what I keep hearing is that is usually more important than the crowd level.

It is our favorite time to go. Warm, but not terribly humid. Not a lot of rain. Flower and Garden is so beautiful.

I am getting nervous because lots of people are asking about early May. I am scared it is going to become as miserably busy as every other week.

I wonder if the Pandora DVC/AP previews will make the parks more crowded? Of course I guess that is more mid May than early May.

We usually go in the beginning of May because it's our anniversary.
Weather varies so much. Last year the weather the weather was breezy and beautiful!

We will be there May 9-16. May is great until the end of the month. That's the beginning of summer season, and the crowds start swelling with the temps etc. I have been every month of the year, and can say imho early to mid may and mid September to early October are the best times to go weather and crowd wise.

May is the perfect time to go. Last week in may usually the busiest.
