My cheap tripod could not withstand the heat of a car trunk in August at Disneyworld. While taking a shot I noticed the mounting head was a bit "wobbly" and later that night, it just broke off! I got the shot (great pic of the POTC skeleton in front of the building at night) and saved the camera but I'm done with plastic parts for a tripod. Does anyone have any thoughts on a nice mid-priced set-up for an amateur photographer?
