Triple Stroller Options

Long time lurker here! We are a family of 6 and are visiting in December, staying at Summer Bay Resort. We are having a stroller issue. Our kids will be 2, 3, 4, and 9 on our vacation. We use a city mini stroller at home, and our 4 year old walks.

However, our 4 year old gets whiny after a while, and I'd prefer a spot for her it sit down, so we are looking at renting a triple stroller. The only option I see is a triple stroller from Simple Stroller Rentals. Are there any other options?

Plan B was to rent a single stroller and bring our double, but when my husband takes the oldest on the "big kid rides", I don't want to be stuck in one place because I can't push two strollers at once. (Could you picture tired mom pushing a double with one hand and dragging the other around behind me!) :rotfl2: And, we are driving from the Midwest, so saving space in our van is a must!

Thanks all you travelling pros!

Use a double and have them take turns. I had a triple stroller for neighborhood strolls - it was a monster!

I agree that a double would work if you could get them to take turns without much whining. However not sure how well that would work if the kids are likely to fall asleep in the stroller (since you wouldn't want to wake up a sleeping kid to let the child that was walking have a turn)

I have a 1yrs ,3 yr and 5 yr and I use a joovy caboose sit and stand I have the youngest in the front then the 3 yr old sit on the bench and can still have enough room for the 5 yr old to stand. Works great because the oldest can walk some of the time. Love it ! And it not to crazy big it's actually the same size as my single

Is it hard to push? I think that's what I was looking at renting.

I have a joovy caboose that I love. It pushes easier and is about the same size as my old single travel system stroller.

If your four year old could handle it and you don't need to be able to push all three at once, amended plan b could be that the single is an umbrella stroller. Then you could easily carry or even sling the single onto the double.

Just remember that the joovy caboose isn't ideal for napping for everyone in case that's something you're requiring. If the front seat is reclined, it's hard for the child on the back to use the bench to sit.

Hope you figure out something that works for you! Best of luck and hope you have a wonderful vacation.

Try the glider board for the citi mini. When we went I had two 21 month olds, an almost 4 yr old and a 6 yr old. The olderbtwo mostly walked, but the day my 4 yr old had had enough she sat cross legged on the board.

I did see someone once with a single smallish umbrella stroller bungee corded to a bigger double. That could work if you have a second pusher

I think I'd still go with the double and a single. The triple strollers I have seen are big and harder to manuever, and are a pain to get on and off the trams.

If you want to go someplace with the three youngest while the oldest is riding with your husband, you could always leave the single in stroller parking and have the 4 yr old walk during those times.

We leave our stroller in stroller parking and explore an area for an hour or more, then go back later and pick it up. It's never been an issue.

If you go with a triple check the dimensions. There are size limits on strollers.

I have 3 young boys - we use a double city mini + a ride on board on the back. It works great b/c there is always one of the boys awake and happy to stand on the back.

this past year it was hard for me to push with all 3 on though, b/c my oldest is a large 6yo and my twins are 4... so next year we will rent a single stroller + bring the double. if my husband takes my older son on a ride alone- he'll just bring the single with him. No issue there.

I would NEVER EVER want a triple at Disney- i'm not even sure they are allowed? I don't recall ever seeing one.

My kids are 4,4, and 2 right now. There is no way I would take a triple stroller. They are way to wide (or too long if you went with that option) for Disney. We go with a double and a single and make it through just fine. If DH is taking the bigger kids on a ride, you can always park one or both strollers and have a kid walk for a few minutes if you don't want to stand in one place too long.

Wow! I'm overwhelmed with all the responses! Off to read them to hubby and see what he thinks. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

It would depend on your touring style. If you plan to be in the parks for a long day or during hot weather I would go with a double and a single. The 4 yr old will probably fall asleep.

I've taken both my nieces and they often fell asleep in the stroller. They were 4-5.5 years old when they went.
