Triple D's February Challenge - The Wait is Finally Over!!

MrsPotts...I did the Kansas 1/2 Ironman (70.3) last year...it was a very pretty bike ride. Hilly, but not too hilly! Will be there in June if anyone wants to stop by!

My bike computer has only gone up to 48 mph that I know of. That was an awesome long downhill! :goodvibes Haven't quite hit the 50 mph mark...well, not that I know of...haven't had a computer on my bike in a couple of years.

So, no one has done cool events....a shame.:sad1:

I thought the TOT 13K was cool...fun to run around the parks like that in the dark and I loved the medal. My friend and I dressed as bellhops.

I've done a swim event in Alaska....in Ketchikan. Water was 58 degrees. Good thing I brought my wetsuit! 1000 yds of coolness!

The Urban Dare race last year was fun....running, plus clue solving, plus doing little challenges like throwing darts, kicking soccer balls, etc. along the way.

And, of course, Escape from Alcatraz. That would be my all-time cool event that I'm not sure I'll ever top. :thumbsup2

Betsy, I decided to poke around on the internet and see if there were any "fun" runs in my area, something cool and inspirational and something I could definitely do. I expanded my search into Oklahoma since its really not that far for me and found a run called Trail of Tears. I remember my grandma telling me a story about the the trail of tears and what happened but I'm pretty sure this isn't what she had in mind. After clicking on the link I discovered it was a nude run. What the heck? :confused3 There was a picture...from behind! :lmao: I think that image is permanently burned into my mind. I really need a drink! Geesh

What a beautiful day! It's going to be 70 degrees. The bike felt good this morning.

Have a great day everybody!

Ronda

I walked outside this morning and couldn't believe how gorgeous it was, it's almost balmy out there! Wish I could play hooky there's a trail about 30 miles from me that I would love to walk/run and today would be perfect for it! Enjoy the weather while you can sounds like next week might take a turn for the worse!

Erica...I have to jump in. Bull Durham

Lisa...I am so sorry!!! Here's some bleach for your eyes

:lmao:

Hey just popping in again to say hi!!!!!

Hey all!
Just a quick check in.
Surgery wiped me out more than I thought.
I can't believe that I thought I'd be better in
a week or two. :sad2:
So basically, the surgery was a bit more extensive
than they thought, but no cancer :thumbsup2
I'm still having trouble just walking to the
kitchen, so it'll be a while before I'll be doing any
distance walking.
The good thing is that I have until March 5th
off from work and after next week I can start
driving again.

I'll check in more often when I'm up to it,
right now I just sleep a lot.
Thanks for all the kind wishes, prayers and thoughts :goodvibes

Liz, glad you are able to check in. Great news, no cancer! Take it easy and check in when you can.

Hi Liz! Glad to see you back (disregard my email!). Hope you have a speedy recovery and are out running soon.

I am glad to be home, had one of the bumpiest flights in a long tome. The TOT came to mind a few times. Can't wait to get out riding. They say it is to warm up today, maybe into the 30's!

Trail of Tears? Running without some kind of support sounds a little uncomfortable.....

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Augie

Liz - Glad you're home and there is no cancer!!!! Take care of yourself and don't rush the recovery. You'll be walking circles around us in no time at all!

Augie - I don't want to even think about it! ewww

Guess it's time to turn in the week totals. Not stellar but more than I was doing a year ago which was absolutely nothing! Bryan didn't know if you wanted a lump sum or broken out so I'll do both until you let me know.
Walk/Run - 13.34 miles 192 minutes
Bike - 27 miles 88 min
Lifting - 80 min

Grand total 40.34 miles/360 minutes

I'm headed to KC this weekend for my nephew's first birthday! It will be fun and maybe I can sneak in some shopping since I'm in "the city"! Everyone have a good weekend.

I'm in sunny California right now.....wait, it's not sunny and it's only 49.:rotfl: Back home in Kansas it's sunny and supposed to be 72 today. Go figure!
The upside is we are with our grandkids. :)
I'm not getting any exercising in, but I promise to make up for it when we get back home.

Hey Gang! Sorry for the non-post yesterday. I got home from the gym with a wicked headache so I pretty much went straight to bed. Then, I woke up around 2am, checked email and went back to bed. Feel better this morning though so hopefully, it will be a good day.

Liz It is so awesome to see you around. I know you are still not feeling well but I am hopeful that you will feel better soon. Take care of yourself!! (Orders from you lil' bro.;) )

Erica So much to learn about you, huh? The original movie buff, I see. And apparently, a baseball fan too. Is this love for all sports or just baseball? I may have met my match.

Team I am seeing some awesome numbers for the first week from all of you. This is a great sign of things to come. I believe what I am going to do is post totals by everyone's name on the first post. I will keep a spreadhseet on my computer that I can send to anyone that would like to see it so you can have a breakdown. Plus, if you would like, you can always put your totals in your signature line as well.

I am looking at getting out in just a little while to add to my totals for the week so I will post my totals a little later. Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!! Be back soon!!

Bryan:cheer2: :grouphug:
