Triple Coupons! Or How I Saved $70...

Woo hoo!

When I got to the supermarket (Shop Rite) yesterday afternoon, I saw on a sign in the window that it's a triple coupon week. I happened to cut out a lot of coupons from last week's paper and had them with me.

It took a good half-hour extra to find everything, but boy, were the results worth it! My order rang up to $176, but after the coupons were deducted, I paid $106.

Got great deals on a lot of non-perishables--toothpaste and toothbrushes, mayonnaise, canned soup and vegetables, paper towels, aluminum foil, shampoo, body wash, etc. The cashier was even impressed with how well I did.

I am so thrilled! Many of the items I bought wound up being free. I'm going back later this week to stock up on donations for the food bank--it's almost that time of year again.

I remember many years ago a certain grocery chain had double coupon offers once a week. The string was your total value per coupon after doubling could not exceed $1. With most coupons these days, you have to buy 2-4 items per coupon to just get 15 cents off. Sounds like you got a great deal.

Thats why we have BOGO-buy one get one free, and guess what, you can STILL use a coupon for any of those items too.
