Everyone is different, wants different things, likes different things, tolerates different things to many different degrees, has different travel experiences before they get to a place, has different reasons for traveling to a place; people have different expectations about service--valet, concierge, front desk; people respond differently to people they meet in the elevators or in the halls or at the pools or at the restaurants--I could go on and on--all of these things may or may not come in to play when someone decides to write a review. I find that most reviews are at either end of the spectrum--someone either really liked or had a real reason to dislike a place. The middle-of-the-road types tend not to take the time to write a review. I wouldn't respond to someone's review--wouldn't be worth my time to get into an argument with someone I don't even know over something that could have had so many contributing factors making up that experience.
