Well, DH, DD-3, DD-1 and returned last week from a 4 day excursion at CBR. We had a blast! I was a bit concerned about DD-1 and how she would respond, but my concerns were unfounded. She loved it all.
First off, this was our first stay at CBR. It was great! DD-3 loved it--even better than staying with the giraffes at AKL. The pools and beaches were wonderful. We enjoyed the food court at Old Port Royale, also. Having DD-1 with us, we spent a lot more time around CBR than we normally would, but that was okay with us all.
Our first day, we went to MK. DD-3 has been waiting and waiting to ride Splash Mountain. We headed straight over there and...TOO SHORT! She missed it by about an inch! She was okay with it, though, and we all had a good time. DD-1 loved Buzz Lightyear. She was not afraid of anything we did. DD-3, however, was terrified of the Haunted Mansion. She also got a little nervous on Pirates of the Carribbean, which she loved last year. Oh, well, I guess that's what a year of maturing will do for you. We had dinner at Chef Mickey's that night--always good.
Our second day, we went to Epcot first. DD-3 was excited to see Figment and wanted to go to "Ice Station Cool". We also hit The Land and Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, which scared DD-3 again.
We then ran over to MGM to see The Little Mermaid and Playhouse Disney, big hits with the girls. We had dinner that night at Crystal Palace, which was a first for us. DD-1 squealed with delight everytime one of the characters came over! We loved it, although the food wasn't quite as good as Chef Mickey's.
The next day was spent at AK, where Kali River Rapids was a suprising hit with DD-3. She rode 3 times--up until park closing time. She was a little scared by It's Tough to be a Bug, but both girls loved Festival of the Lion King. We then had dinner at Rainforest Cafe, which is one of our favorites. That night, we headed over to MGM to see Spectromagic. DD-3 was dying to "go measure" and try to ride Tower of Terror. She was, of course, too short. However, they gave her a "future rider" certificate, which she is supposed to bring back when she meets the height requirement and get booted to the front of the line! I didn't know that they did anything like this--no such things at Splash Mountain or Test Track, the other rides she insisted on trying. This was VERY exciting for her and she loves to tell everybody about her "tificate".
Our last day, we jumped around. We had breakfast at Cinderella's royal table, which DD-3 loved! We then re-hit a few MK favorites and headed back to CBR for naps. That afternoon, we went back to AK and DD-3 rode Kali River Rapids 4 more times! She loved being the "soakedest" on the boat! We then went over to Epcot for a few last rides and to see Illuminations.
Overall, a great trip. Has anyone heard of the future rider stuff before? Do any of the other rides do that? We are going back in September and don't know if she'll make the height by then. More episodes like the one at Tower of Terror might suffice if she's still not tall enough.
