We are taking a big family trip in June. It will be my husband, myself, our three kids and the grandparents. We are lucky in that, for the most part, the grandparents are mobile - although my MIL has a few issues but that's another topic. My question is this - when we go on rides that they would be uncomfortable riding - Rock N Roll Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror - can they walk through the lines with us and then exit just prior to us getting on the ride? My mom and my MIL both are not comfortable riding these types of rides but would love to hang with the kids until they are on the ride to talk with them and share their excitement. Any ideas? Thank you in advance for your help. :)

Most rides have a "chicken exit" for people who don't want to ride. They should be allowed to use it. Just let the CM who asks you how many in your party know that they don't want to ride. That person should let them exit.

All of those kind of attractions have chicken exits.
They could go thru the line with you and when they get to the point of telling the CM how many, they would just say they don't want to ride.

If any of your children are too short to ride, they would not be able to enter the line. So for those, your child would just stay with the grandparents.

At RnRC there will be a door to the left where guests turn right to load onto the coaster. You'll walk thru that door down a hallway and thru another door. when you go thru that 2nd door, you'll come out where the coaster unloads. the CMs will scoot you thru that area pretty fast for safety reasons and have you enter right into the gift shop where you can reunite with the rest of your party.

At ToT, there is a 'real' elevator between the two sets of ride elevators. they will have a CM take you in that elevator and when you exit that elevator you'll walk a shorter hallway and exit a door where the ride elevators are unloaded. They will probably ask you to go down to where you can preview the ride photos for safety reasons to reunite with your party but it's not far at all.

But yes, there's pretty much a way out of almost all of the rides! HTH!! :goodvibes
