My family, (DH, DS(6), and DD(3)) are planing on a trip to NYC the first week of Nov. We have never been, we want to go to Times square, broadway show, central park, statue of liberaty and of course shopping. The question is where is the best place to stay that is mod. priced, good for kids. We don't need a luxury hotel. Any input would be great.

Travelzoo has great deals on NYC hotels. Check out their website. When I went in December I used them for the Millenium UN Hotel.

In June we stayed at Doubletree Guest Suites on Lexington. It was a good loacation and moderately priced.

Next month we are staying at the Sheraton Times Square. It is a little more expensive than the Double Tree though.

If you have AAA usually they have good rates. What I would do is find hotels through expedia/orbitz/etc then go directly to the hotels website to see the deals they have.
