I'm not finding any trip reports for Southern Caribbean. I've even tried spelling it 2 different ways. :scared:
If anyone has done this sailing, can you give me a little information on the ports? I like that the itinerary is so port intensive.

It is the best Caribbean itinerary DCL offers. I have done it twice back in 2011 and this past January. The ports are more interesting and "exotic" than Eastern or Western by far. If you have any specific questions I am happy to answer. I have a reservation for April 30 but don't think I can make it because we want to go transatlantic next year.

What types of things did you do in the ports that you liked? I like that they have activities besides enjoying the beach. It looks like some have rainforests, cavern/caves, historical stuff. I like the beach, but I do live in San Diego and can go to the beach anytime, so I am interested in some beach, but hopefully other stuff, too. Barbados has been on my bucket list. I'd like to know what you did there especially.

My husband and I did the southern Caribbean on the Wonder this January. This was our 3rd DCL cruise but first without kids. We had a fabulous time! We loved doing more active excursions and stuff we couldn't normally do when our young kids are with us. In Barbados we did the turtle catamaran and snorkeling. It was great (even though we didn't see any turtles, which apparently was unusual), we did snorkel on some awesome coral reefs and saw lots of cool fish and marine life. Antigua was my favorite island. The beaches and water were so gorgeous! We did the lobster catamaran lunch day. It was great! We first stopped and spent some time at a local secluded beach (about an hour) and then sailed around the shoreline, stopping a few times to snorkel. The lobster lunch was great too! In St Kitts we did an ocean kayaking trip which was really fun. We also stopped to snorkel over a shipwreck. Finally, in Martinique, we did the bat cave snorkel tour. It was pretty cool, although I wouldn't recommend it for kids under 15 or so unless they are really comfortable swimming in the ocean. We had to snorkel right near a rocky shoreline with heavy surf into the bat cave. You only go to the entrance of the cave but it was hard navigating the surf and not bumping into others or the rocks. I still really enjoyed it! I highly recommend the S. Caribbean itinerary! It was definitely busier than our other cruises but we were looking for adventure and the islands were beautiful!

Did you look at www.disneycruiselineblog.com ? I think Scott did a trip report of the Oct 2014 cruise.

I second that it was the best of all of the cruises. It was very port intensive but very interesting ports. I would do it again if they offered it in Jan/Feb again.

We also did the Jan 2016 sailing as 2 adults. Amazing cruise, would do it again in a heartbeat. We are not beach people, so all of our excursion focused on history / local culture. We even managed to do a couple of rum tours. I would highly recommend this cruise.

We more or less went out and adventured on our own. In Barbados we did a day on the Cool Runnings Catamaran and had a great time. Last time we took and island tour and it was great also to see the whole island. The east side is incredible. Most other islands we did our own tour based on what we felt like seeing, we went to rain forest, water falls, beaches, and in some just puttered around the port areas.

Go to cruisecritic.com and search their forums for Ports of Calls and you can find anything you need there.

They are just neat ports and less traveled than the normal Eastern and Western.
