Got back Saturday from our 5/1-5/8 visit -- what a blast! I'm still mentally in the pool at AKL...

Some very quick observations -- we had a fabulous time, even with the rain on Monday. The only day we hit crowds was Wednesday at MK, and since that was our second day in that park, it was no big deal. Otherwise, Epcot, MGM, AK weren't crowded at all, and we barely stood in line for anything. Only used FP for one or two rides the entire week!

Loved meeting my brother and his wife and girls there. We had LOTS of magic, including:

--cast member at front desk of AKL who made my husband a pot of coffee when he couldn't get back to sleep at 4 am (we'd all gone to bed at 8 the night before!)
--my brother scoring an upgrade from a standard view to a savannah view right across the hall from us!
--had no trouble switching a few of our PS's from dinner to lunch, which ended up being more practical for us
--cast member at AK VIPed us with free ice cream and seats up front at the Lion King show -- and all we did was ask him for the quickest way to camp Minnie-Mickey!

Only two cautions:

--Only disappointment food-wise was at Tony's Town Square -- food was only average and overpriced ($18 for a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs?). Everywhere else we ate -- 50s Prime Time, Chef Mickey's, Teppanyaki, Boma (twice!) was terrific.
--Someone had recommended watching the MK fireworks from in front of Space Mountain in Tomorrowland. Well, that's fine if your goal is to avoid the crowds -- but from that vantage point, the fireworks were off to the side of the castle, instead of behind them, and they don't shut off the PA for the rides, so we had the annoying announcement from the Tomorrowland Transit Authority over and over and over.... so brave the crowds and watch the parade from Main St.

But other than that, it was wonderful. My brother made the most awesome t-shirts for the whole family (we got lots of compliments from CMs!) and my sister-in-law and I proved we were NOT middle-aged suburban moms by going on the Aerosmith roller-coaster! All four kids had a blast... and we all want to go back NOW!

Great trip report! Sounds like a great time!

I always make matching shirts for our family too (weeds out the slackers;) great fun!

TTFN,
Thanks for the report!

Great report!

I would love to see a picture of your shirts! I am thinking about making some for our family and would love to get ideas!

I agree totally with everything my sister posted (and thanks for the t-shirt compliment  )!

One magical moment she forgot to mention - my daughters and niece did the "pearls from the oyster" thing in EPCOT/Japan. My neice actually got "twins" - two blue pearls from the same oyster... talk about a magical moment!! :earseek:

Also, our first day there (Sunday) happened to be my birthday - no better place to be ::yes::

Great report ~ Have to agree with you about Tonys.
