Greetings, all!

My family and I are heading back after a lovely 5 night stay in Orlando-what a great start to our summer! My DH and I have DD15, DD13, and DS9. Our goal was to enjoy some family time together and make some memories!! Our goal did not include character meetings, riding absolutely everything, or catching many parades or shows. I realize this is not the norm!

We arrived Sat., May 19th around 4pm and checked in our villa @ the caribe royale. We settled in and spent some time in the pool. I called and pushed our reservation @ the Wave (Contemporary Resort) back slightly-i think to 7:30. We enjoyed our meal there, and enjoyed watching the prom crowd. We poked around the Contemporary and took a monorail resort spin for fun before calling it a night.

Sunday was a recommended day for AK, so that's what we did. We got there around 9 or a little after. We walked onto Dinosaur and Primeval Whirl. We rode Everest and collected a fp for later. We watched it's Tough to Be a Bug took a Safari ride (the animals were very active! That surprised me for mid day. The lion even lifted his head and looked right @ us!). In line for Safari I called the Rainforest and made a 1:30 reservation. We all liked taking a break and eating and shopping @ rfc. After that, we walked the Pangini (sp?) Trail-the gorillas are so awesome. Then we rode EE again (DH watched Flights of Wonder instead)-i think we had missed our FP window, wo we rode standby. We met up and walked the Jungle Trek trail. We also took time out to view lots of the other animals, such as the Monkeys over by EE, and the kangaroos, and a really BIG catfish..The park was open till 8, but we left around 4:30. We spent time @ the pool and ate in.

Monday, we went to MK, even though it was not recommended. We got there around 9 and took the ferry. DH went to the barbershop and bakery while the kids and I did tomorrowland. We rode Space and got a fastpass to ride it again, did Stitch, Buzz, and AstroOrbiter. We tthen used our fp's to ride space again. Then we went to Fantasyland and got Peter Pan FP's before lunch @ Columbia Harbour House. We headed to Splash, but it was down. The attraction was roped off, there was a large crowd, and several CMs directing people. We instead went and rode Jungle Cruise and then Pirates. We got in lin for Splash afterwards and the line wasn't bad because people were viewing the parade. Unfortunately, the ride went down again though and we didn't ride.

We then used our PP fp's, rode Haunted Mansion, then rode Buzz again before leaving around 530. We drove to T-Rex Cafe and really enjoyed our meal. My daughter was tickled when they sang Happy Birthday to her and brought out the chocolate extinction! We shopped a little and then headed back.

Tuesday 5-22 was a recommended day for HS, and again-we showed up sometime around 9. We rode Toy Story Mania (our first time-what fun!). And got fastpasses for later. The return time was between 12 and 1, which worried me because of our 12:15 adr, but it worked out! We rode Towe of Terror and R and R, then got a snack @ Starring Rolls. I got a R and R fastpass before we headed back to TSM to use those Fp's right @ 12. We scurried over to sci fi dine after and still got seated quickly. We rode R and R again, then Star Tours, and the great Movie ride. We then watched the 4pm Beauty and the Beast show and then went back to our hotel. We swam and ate in.

Our last day, Wed. May 23, we slept in and headed to Typhoon Lagoon around 10:30. What a great place! We got some chairs and swam in the wave pool, then rode Crush and Gusher and did Shark Reef. We had lunch, then repeated what we did before! We also rode the family raft ride. We enjoyed the wave pool (especially the waves!!) Until 4:30, then we went back and got ready for dinner. We had a 6:35 reservation @ Kona Cafe. I ordered a small cake for my daughter when we arrived, and the whole restaurant joined in the singing! Afterwards, the girls and I explored the Grand Floridian (we saw a mama duck and babies and also a bunny out on the grounds!). While the boys went to the arcade @ the Contemorary. We met back @ the Poly and left around 9:30

We had a lovely trip!! It was all I hoped for-the weather was great (no rain for us!), we had tons of fun in the parks, and enjoyed some great meals togeher.
