At DLP on March 16, 2004
Stayed offsite (in a flat in Paris for 9 days).
The weather on the 16th was warm and beautiful. Every weather forecaster must have gotten it wrong because everyone was lugging around heavy coats. (Lockers sure would have been nice!)
We rode the RER out and arrived at about 8:45 for a 10 am park opening. We needed to buy our tickets and were amazed that no ticket window opened before about 9:10 am. We bought our tickets - with the shareholders' club discount- and went to find Salon Mickey. I had not told my family about Salon Mickey, so this was a fun surprise for them. I only wish we had had a bit more time to enjoy it...we are "First in Line at Rope Drop" people, so we only had about 10 minutes in the lounge. The lounge is decorated beautifully and CM who let us in was very nice.
We had some drinks, a donuts and used the restroom. There were Disney cartoons playing on a TV but we had no time to watch them. At Salon Mickey there were plenty of drinks. There were two very large baskets for pastries. Each one contained exactly 5 pastries...Seriously, each donut was placed about 2 inches from the next. When those were taken, they replaced them so that there were always 5 pastries in the huge basket. Is DLP really in such financial trouble that they can't fill the basket?
Anyway, I enjoyed getting the discount ...with the cost of the shares, the stock trade, and the 15 euro fee to join, I came out a few euros ahead, but it was great fun to take my family in through a special entrance!
