I was at the MM event at MK this past Sunday night (1/28).

It rained somewhat hard (not a torrential downpour) from about 7 to 9. This must have effected the turn out (I think probably because it is a free event). This was as close as I will ever come to having Magic Kingdom all to myself. SDMT was basically the longest line coming in at about 10 minutes.

I was able to ride, in just under 3 hours:

Space Mountain (twice)
Buzz Lightyear,
SDMT(3 times),
Small world,
Haunted Mansion,
Pirates,
Big Thunder Mountain (3 times)

And I bailed at 11:30, I could have easily hit 2 more things.

I do not expect I will ever see MK that empty again.

Otherwise, Sat. Sun, Monday (Epcot, MK, HS) the parks were a tad crowded for the time of year, but not horrible. Toy Story Mania (Formally Toy Story Midway Mania) was in rough shape, coming in with a 2 hour wait yesterday. As they move the entrance to the attraction to the back of the building for the closing of Pixar Place, they are (back) down to 2 tracks, so until Toy Story Land opens, the ride capacity will probably limited.

I thought it was great. And the weather was much much better than forecast, which was for thunderstorms all evening. As mentioned above, some moderate rain early with only 1 brief heavy downpour that I recall. But the 9-12 timeframe was mostly just a little spritzing here and there. Since it was about 70 and the rain wasn't cold, I thought it was better than it would have been if it were tonight when it will be in the 40's.
Anyway, rode about 12 rides, most were walk-on's. A couple with a 5-10 minute line. I'm not into character meets, but there were a lot of characters you don't usually see. Walking around the park and not being in a mob of people was great.
Showed up for the fireworks about 2 minutes before they started and had an excellent uncrowded view.
All in all, I thought it was a great event.

We were there too. I was expecting a real downpour the entire night frankly as they called for 2 inches of rain. It rained for sure but not the entire time. I made FP for HM and Buzz before 8. Some observations:

The parked closed at 8 and watched the firework at 7:55 from MainSt in the rain. Very neat. What was opened and closed from 8 to 9 was weird. Philharmagic was open. We rode Space twice, Mine train twice in the rain. We rode big thunder 3 times in a row without getting off. Another round of HM. Walked on a great Jungle cruise after meeting Balou and Just amazing. We got pictures with Herbie and King Louie. Plus the vehicle from Toad. We were last in line to meet Robin Hood, Friar Tuck and Big John - a true rarity.

With the rain, I thought Disney did well with getting the characters in dry places. The food - we walked into Pinocchio's at 9 and it was a mad house. Waited 45 minutes at Cosmic ray's - empty. The hot dogs did not agree with my stomache.

We did the Disney after Dark on Friday and Moonlight on Sunday. Quick comparison - Disney after Dark was a smaller crowd but wait times were comparable for attractions. More attractions at Moon;light and way more characters. The rain certainly played a part in attraction wait times at Moonlight but the princesses had posted wait times of 90 minutes. Not unlike the Christmas and Halloween parties, many folks wanted that picture.

I would love to do another.
