Day 1 Saturday: Arrived and picked up car from Alamo. Good customer service, received free upgrade and additional driver. Told husband we did not need the GPS ( Disappointed look from him ) because we had directions to everywhere in my WDW bible based on tips from all of you!:thumbsup2 Arrived at the Fort to check in and were told our cabin request had been granted and would be ready after 3:00. ( We did not know which request of the two we had made 2100 or the elusive 100 loop). We got the golf cart and parked it, headed to Magic Kingdom to try out touringplans.com Sunset tour of MK. I must say the touring plans worked great and we used them at each park during our visit. We had waits for rides in the range of 0-15 minutes tops! We returned to the Fort and were assigned Cabin 118! ( Halleluia chorus:cloud9: ) The cabin location is the reason for all the hoopla because it is located close to the marina. We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs listening to the Fort music after the kids were asleep and having a Millerlite or two. I must say that some of the RV setups were amazing and everyone was nice. We had a great first day!

Wow, you're the first person I've ever heard of who got that request!

Hey, I just noticed, the deck stairs are backwards on that cabin...they lead you to the bedroom door instead of the kitchen door....unless the whole cabins backwards.

I use touringplans.com too. They're great. I adjust mine a little. We don't ride on every ride possible. It really helped with where to go and when.

Great photo. Is the inside any different then the regular cabins?

The inside of the cabin appears to be the same as pictures I have seen on other threads. There are two sets of deck stairs; one for the front door leading to the parking pad, and one from the bedroom door to a little sidewalk. We would head down that set of stairs, go under some trees, and hit the path that leads to the marina/ Pioneer Hall area.

Day 2: Animal Kingdom. We had a day of unexpected sights at Animal Kingdom. At Expedition Everest we saw this:

We rode Expedition Everest 8 times. Thanks touring plans!

Day 2 cont. : A most interesting sight happened at Planet Watch Station. An oryx (The animal that looks like the size of a large buck with zebra striped legs and long horns) male was chasing a female oryx, who out manuvered him. He hit a wall and broke his jaw. This happened at 1:45pm. By 2:15pm, he was at the Planet Watch getting x-rayed. We watched his surgery behind the viewing glass as he had pins placed in his jaw. The oryx was under and they had his horns wrapped in rubber hoses in case he wakened. I hope he is doing ok.

I just found your TR - I can't believe you got Loop 100! I tried but we weren't that lucky. I'm looking forward to reading more about your trip!

Day 3 Epcot: We Have not spent a lot of time here in the past, but now that the kids are older we made a day of it and saw Illuminatons for the first time. When we were on Living with the Land, my son said, "This is cool!" My husband anwered, "Yeah, and there's no screaming involved." My teenage daughter and I shared a nice moment under one poncho in a serious downpour right before Illuminations. Those are memories without pictures that stay precious!

Day 4: MGM, I mean Hollywood Studios. Thanks to touring plans, we had few line waits and multiple rides on RR and TofT! We did deviate from the plan when we saw Toy Story was posted as a 30 minute wait. We stood in line for an hour! Bummer! The decor was so fun to look at that it helped the time go by with a game of "I Spy". MGM, ooops, HS is always a good time for the kids! I LOVE Fantasmic and Sorcerer Mickey!

Day 5: Magic Kingdom Rope Drop. Today was all about Mommy and what she loves! As we pulled into Magic Kingdom on the monorail, the train with all the Disney characters were chugging along too right before our eyes for the rope drop! ( We were a bit behind the time I hoped to be there, but hey, we're on vacation!) We headed straight for fantasyland and walked onto Peter Pan, Snow White, Pooh, and It's a Small World. My trip was complete right then and there. My husband also finalized his retirement plans while we were there. Here's his plan:

Day 6: Typhoon Lagoon. As you may have noticed, my husband and kids are northerners from Chicago and are strongly of the nordic persuasion. Despite several re-applications of sunscreen, they are still peeling from their sunburns. Only my smidgen of Cherokee (Thanks great- grandma!) saved me from the same fate. I highly recommend to other northerners to put this park off to the end of your vacation. We had a great time.

Day 7: Good-bye, Mickey!:( We spent our last day at Downtown Disney shopping and doing Disney Quest before flying out in the afternoon. Our trip was a wonderful getaway and family time together.
