Trip Report for our 1st magical cruise 9/1

So, Day 4 was our Magical Day @ Sea! It really was Magical. :thumbsup2
We all went to Parrot Cay for Breakfast; our Head Server, Jeff, had arranged these fantastic Gluten Free blueberry pancakes for Nicholas for breakfast!
While we were eating, I went over the Navigator and noticed that Disney Dreams was playing at 2:30 and then two evening shows. I was really looking forward to it! :cool1:
Alan and I had rsvped a dis meet @ the Roy Disney suite for the afternoon of the Day at Sea, but I skipped it. Alan attended, and said that it was really pretty. He indulged in a few moments of "someday when we're filthy rich..." Then came back to meet me in our cat. 11 stateroom for the matinee of Dreams! :rotfl:
I looked like a complete nut during the end of dreams. I was absolutely sobbing with joy.:cloud9: It was really beautiful.
I went back again, with kids a few hours later. Nicholas invited Mya and we wound up seeing it w/Mya, Shanna (myas mom), Noah (mya's bro) and Mya's grandmother! We took up half a row! All the kids enjoyed it so much that our 2 families led the standing ovation!
Then the 2 families separated to shower and change for the late seating at "formal" dinner. My hubby and I preceded the kids to the atrium as we wanted to meet w/Captain Thom (my hubby the weather nut, felt he had valuable info. to share re. the storms). The Captains Gala reception was lovely and Alan did meet w/the captain for a few brief moments.
Dinner was lovely and one of our children was the gossip of the whole ship that evening.
Nicholas decided to send Mya a written note, inviting her to join our family at a Family Dance that evening in Studio Sea. I suggested he send a smoothie drink to go with it. He liked that idea and Daddy ok'd the expenditure for a berry smoothie to go with the Note. Now our assistant server, Jozsef (aka Cupid) thought that the serving tray with the note and drink was too empty. So he folded some aluminum foil into a rose and suggested to Nicholas that the flower go w/note and drink. :flower3: Nicholas agreed and the whole thing was served to little Miss Mya at her table across the room, to the delight and surprise of her family. Many photos were taken, I understand.
They stopped by our table after dessert, and thanked Nicholas. Mya then accepted his invitation and we all attended the Family Dance (well, all except my two Ocean Quest kids who were above all this parental togetherness).
By this time, James had met a young lady his own age. :wizard: Christina was keeping him company in front of Guitar Hero and they enjoyed raiding the late night dessert buffet at Lumiere's. :genie: I later learned (from Christina's folks) that James had remembered his manners when meeting her parents. Whew! Glad to know they listen.:goodvibes

Now, I must mention here that Jozsef was an awfully sweet sport to do all this for Nicholas, because Nicholas had been a little bit of headache to Jozsef upt to this point.:headache:
On the first night Jozsef asked Nicholas what he wanted to drink and Nicholas responded: Milk. The 2nd evening our drinks (remembered from the previous night) were waiting for us. But Mr. Picky changed his mind; tonight he wanted OJ! On Night 3: Apple juice. Tonight Jozsef was ready for him, though. He served all 3, and had diet coke and diet sprite already poured and waiting (just in case)! We all laughed at Jozsefs response to our little Dennis the Menace! So, now you see why I say he was awfully good to be so helpful in serving Nicholas friend w/the treat Nick planned for her, and in making it extra special!:wizard: I'll never forget Jozsef. He really served an extra helping of Magic on this trip!:earsboy:

So our last day was supposed to be on Castaway Cay. But one the previous night Captain Thom announced that we would be actively avoiding Tropical Storm Hanna (my kids were calling her Horrible Hanna), so it was still up in the air as to whether we would be calling castaway cay.
In the morning, when we rose, it became apparent that we were NOT at Castaway Cay! The boats motion was rather pronounced. Shortly after we woke (around 8 am) the captain announced that because of the high winds near Castaway Cay we would be unable to revisit. We would be enjoying another day at Sea. New Navigators would be printed and distributed within the hour (we received new ones at our breakfast table at Lumiere's).
Our second day at sea was cloudy with a warm misty rain and alot of motion! We definitely used the Bonine!
BUT we got to see some good show, spend more time with new friends, and pack for our brief stay at WDW.
I can't say we were really disappointed. We felt that since we had a visit, the 2nd would have been a bonus-a day at Sea was fine.
In the afternoon the clouds cleared and the decks 9 and 10 became more active. Jessi went up and watched High School Musical 2 on Ariel vision! She love HSM and Hannah Montana, so this was a big treat for her.
That night we had a hard time saying goodbye to our servers and all our new friends. Nicholas had a very difficult saying goodby to Mya and her family. He shook her hand, but I hugged her and Noah!:lovestruc
I hope we'll be able to sail again soon. I just loved it. It really was a dream vacation!:cloud9:

very nice. too bad you missed out on another day at cc but it sounds like you had a wonderful time
