Trip Report Emotions

Does anyone else find writing trip reports reopens old emotions? When I started mine I was really happy and enjoyed writing them but now I'm getting near the end it's stirring up the sadness of coming home and they're not so much fun to write. I'm determined to finish them though!

OMG Libby, yes I know exactly what you mean.

However when I had completely finished it was almost cathartic and it is lovely now to have a look at them from time to time - brings back some lovely memories.

It is such hard work too. I am really enjoying yours but I have only read a couple - so many have sprung up while I've been away (which is great but I am so far behind with reading them all!)

I must admit I love reading the trip reports (though like Karen I have a few to catch up on), I like it when you are reminded of a ride or place that you have been to, as it makes your own memories come flooding back.

I think writing trip reports is quite hard work, thats why for my last trippies I didn't do a daily one, but a general report from each park.

Like you, Libby, I really enjoyed writing my trippies at the start (especially as it was almost a year on) but I found it hard to do the last few days.

I must admit, it helped that my next trip was so close to when I finished writing them - not sure how well I'll cope with it this time (unless I leave it a year before writing my trip reports, of course )

I really appreciate the effort a lot of people put into trip reports. I've saved a few tips for future reference

For our trip report I saved it as a reminder of the times we had. The troops demand to see it at least every couple of weeks

Oh, yes - that rings true here

Writing the reports may seem like a slog towards the end, but having such a detailed reminder of your trip is really worthwhile. I love dipping back into ours and reading about things I'd completely forgotten! We've taken two trips which I didn't write up, and I really regret not doing them now - it seems as though they'll be 'lost' without a tangible reminder.

So keep up the good work, Libby, you know it will be worth it in the end (and we all want to read them )

Can I just add that I LOVE the trip reports, I may not reply to all of them but I do read them all, its so wonderful when you come across like minded people who enjoy the things you love so much yourself.
I'm not sure I'll do one, I can't imagine my trip will be as interesting or my writing as good as everyone elses but I do love to read them

I love the trippies.
I remember reading think it was night-trains, and they stayed at the ASMO there was a pic of the pool etc and it brought back so many memories, and its good reading someone else's views on the place and etc.
I cant write my own, although I did keep a diary and have done for all trips,mine would be too boring, and wouldnt sound or look has good has the one's I have read
I try not to get my pics out, has usually the case happens to be we book again! Soooooo,I have great pleasure in reading other's! and sitting here sulking!

I really love reading everyone's trip reports (and I would like to read your's too Carol ). It is lovely seeing how other people experience their holidays and you can learn a lot more about the places.

I have enjoyed writing mine up because I am reliving the holiday again though I have booked up to go back so it doesn't feel sad doing them because I know I am going back.

I love Orlando just wish it wasn't so addictive!
