Trip Report! DIS Exclusive Knights & Lights/Disneyland Paris, Part 5 - LOTS OF PICS!

Tobi is not kidding when she said it was a hike. We knew we were in trouble when we had to climb up the stairs of the Tower Bridge.

Here is where our driver dropped us off at the Tower of London for the "Changing of the Keys." We had to walk across, under, and around the Tower Bridge.

Thanks for posting those pics, Mike. I'm glad you thought to take photos! It would have been fun if we hadn't been in such a time crunch!

I've always wanted to walk across that bridge. Thanks for the photo!

Still following your trip reports and really enjoying them~ as always, thank you so much for taking the time to write them and post pictures~ :)

Thanks so much for your posts! I love reading them. Sounds like you had a crazy last night in London. But hey, a complicated evening in London is better than a smooth night at home, right? (Maybe it depends...)

Your pictures reminded me of our visit to the Tower in late November of last year (2010 - I think it was actually Thanksgiving day or the day after). It was freezing cold, and everyone was bundled up like crazy. We loved the tour, and there wasn't any line to see the Jewels - because all sane people were at home! After touring the Tower we warmed up with some really good, hot noodles and soup at Wagamama nearby.

I've always wanted to cross Tower Bridge, too, but that was not exactly the way I wanted to do it!

Yes, it was a crazy night in London! And since we made it, it was totally worth it! And ALWAYS better than being at home!!!

It was gloomy, but fortunately it wasn't that cold. Never did make it to Wagamama. How was it?

Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying them! I'm running *really* behind on my reports, but I'm *hoping* to have the first day of Paris up in the next couple of days.

Great trip report! Brings back tons of memories of our trip to London right before our Baltics Cruise. We even went to see the play Wicked and there was no a/c but the killer part was it was the hottest it had been in that region for 100 years. A huge heat wave came through Europe in 2010. We also stayed at the Chancery Court Hotel too. I can't wait to read about Paris. We have never been but hopefully one day as it is on our list.

Thanks, OurDogCisco! I'm glad to remind you of your trip! Europe just doesn't seem to believe in air conditioning like we do!!

Wasn't the Chancery Court nice? Pretty, pretty hotel! Paris report soon!

Wow! That sounds like some walk! (And was it the Thames Clipper? :) )

Hello, Twinkbelle, and welcome to the Adventures by Disney Forum!

I'm glad you're enjoying my Trip Report! I'm hoping to have the rest of it up in the not-too-distant-future! :thumbsup2

I think you should come to the US, and do the Southwest Splendors ABD! See the USA! :woohoo:

Sayhello

I'd love to do an ABD tour of the US one day! I was thinking about doing the one you're writting about as it would be much cheaper for me without having to add ont he costs of the flights. Having been to London more times then I can count (I have friends/family who live there, its only just over an hour on the train) and I've been to Paris city before as well. Maybe it would better to wait a bit longer save up and do something new.

Well, honestly, Knights & Lights (London/Paris) is one of ABD's most expensive trips. As of today, the price per adult ranges from $5,119 to $5,429, depending on date (£3,293 to £3,492). The Southwest Splendors trip is $3,129 to $3,309 per adult (£2,013 to £2,129). For the $2,000 (£1,286) difference in price, you could easily buy a ticket to the US and a hotel room for a couple of nights to rest up & get over your jet lag! Personally, I'd rather do something new! But that's just me. Knights & Lights is a great trip, but I don't know that I see the value for someone who has already been to the places covered by it multiple times (unless maybe you were doing the DIS Podcast's exclusive trip). They *do* have a lot of tours to other places in Europe that you could do, also.

I've not really looked at prices yet, I'm still at the ideas phase at the moment. I didn't realise that the prices for the Knights/Lights were so much more then the US based tours. I guess that is realistic they are both beautiful but expensive cities. I'd also like to see something new ane exciting! You're right I've seen most things that there are to see in London.
