Day FIVE
Another beautiful morning at the Polynesian.
We hopped the bus early for AK and headed straight to the back of the park to get fast passes for the safari.
After getting those we went over to Tusker House to have some of their delicious hot cinnamon rolls. Yummmmmmmm.
That has become a tradition for us over our last few trips, and we always look forward to it. After eating the kids got to participate in some African music by using drums and instruments provided by one of the street perfomers.
They had a ball.
Then it was time to hit the safari... the park wasn't crowded at all because it was cloudy and looked like rain, but luckily the rain stayed away that day.
The safari didn't have too much life, but we did almost run over 4 rhinos in the road!
I had never seen them that close before. It was amazing!
Next we were on to Dinoland USA. The boys love the triceratops spin and playing all the carnival games. Then dh and I did the baby swap so we could ride Dinosaur. We hit Restaurantasaurus for lunch and then It's Tough to Be a Bug. Luckily the boys weren't scared this time... I think they now know what to expect so we actually made it through without having to leave.
Then we headed back to the Poly for afternoon naps.
We were already getting sad to leave but were super excited to try BCV's and also get over to MGM for some REAL rides. LOL
When the boys woke up we decided to go back to MK quickly before it closed at 8:00. We actually got about 6 rides done in the last hour before the park closed! There were no lines and everyone was leaving, so it was perfect. I think we'll have to remember that for our next trip. We got more accomplished then than we did in a whole morning.
After the park closed we headed back on the boat to the Poly for our farwell dinner at Ohana.
Saving the best for last!
I have never had a bad meal there. I love the salad, the shrimp wontons, the wings, EVERYTHING on the appetizer tray.
And the meats were really good that night... especially the steak and pork.
We were so stuffed we rollllllled out of the restaurant and decided to walk around the resort. We went over by the quiet pool, down by the arcade, over toward Tahiti, and down that deadend walkway to the water. I love that spot!
I bet people get married there, it's just so beautiful.
We just stood there and soaked up to scenery and then headed back down toward the Volcano pool and back to our room. Once we got there we were pleasantly surprised with more towel animals including an adorable swing made of towels and leis between the two beds.
I love the Poly!!!!!
