Monday 5th March 2007
Up washed, dressed, breakfast and out.
At the park again and its another fine sunny day.
The first characters we come upon mainly seem to be Lion King characters and Alice in Wonderland characters. The Queen of Hearts is really good and making very young children cry, she is quite believable at being bad. I turn around for a few seconds and find The Stuff (is that right because it looks like that in my daughters book) taking my little boy off in his pushchair. I run to his rescue, he was oblivious to it, I am sure he would have cried if he had looked around. Tweedle dum and Tweedle Dee liked my girls plaits. They have long hair and they both had their hair plaited. The two characters took great pleasure in tieing both Chloe and Lucy's plaits in front of their faces, spun them around and then they walked and could not see where they were going. It was really funny. Then they tied their hair in a knot above their heads and started laughing to each other. We had a crowd of people all watching and laughing with us. The children loved it. Also when they signed their books they signed To Chloe/Lucy Have Fun love Tweedle Dee/Tweedle Dum, it was written backwards and the way to see it was looking in a mirror holding the book up towards the mirror. The children thought it was a brilliant trick. They were really good characters with the children.
Our first stop today is the fastpass for Big Thunder Mountain. After getting our time we then go to Phantom Manor
and a ride on the riverboat Mark Twain. The children then have a go at the shooting gallery (I dont think they got even one target although we said they had as it was the man next to us that did it). We then go to the pirate ship, the skull rock, children had a stop for a little play. Then off to cabane de robinson and to passage de aladdin.
Straight on then we went to Pirates of the Carribbean. Children enjoyed the guns going off at the beginning. We thought it was a very nice ride along the lines of Its a Small World really isnt it!!
We then stopped for lunch at Toad Hall. Big mistake. The queue was absolutely ridiculous. I think I waited for a good 45 minutes before even getting the food and then they got the order wrong. My children had the fish and they did not like it at all so all in all I think it was a waste of money and also a waste of time.
We then went back and done more rides in Fantasyland including Casey Junior and the little petite village in the boats. The children were really pleased at seeing the emerald city and the wizard of oz characters, although they were only the size of their fingers. My daughters also liked Belles village.
Its a small world, tea cups, carousel etc. We had a bit more of a relax today as the queues were much less and you could feel that you did not need to walk around as fast as there were much less people around.
At 4.00 pm we were at the beginning of the parade by Its a Small World. What a brilliant spot that is. We also saw another good spot where Its a Small Worlds queue is, it is a raised area there and people had a wonderful unobstructed view of the parade. I would advise anyone to go there too.
The parade was lovely again, the music got everyone in the mood. My girls ended up walking towards the castle singing and dancing as though they were in the parade themselves. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs were missing today I dont know why they were not in the parade today as we saw them on Saturday. We had a walk around the shops and spent yet more money.
Was meant to go to the Lucky Nugget today but the times clashed with our fast pass times for Big Thunder Mountain. So the children decided that the rides were more important so we never went!!!! Will definately put this on the list for next time.
Park closes at 6 pm tonight so we ended up leaving around then and going to Annettes Diner. Did not have to wait long for a table and food was yumptious. Would definately go back.
We went back to the hotel and the children played in the play area again. They tackled the hotel shop and bought some more badges for their collection. My mum and I had a well deserved drink of lager or two and drank them on some nice comfy chairs overlooking the swimming pool. It was nice and relaxing.
We went back to our room and the children just zonked straight into the land of nod!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow will be our last day, back to Discoveryland I think. Children are now wishing it was our first day (who doesnt).
