We were up quite early as we had booked Good Morning Fantasyland Breakfast. In fact we were there so early we were almost at the front of the queue, and as I walk briskly I was the first person to walk down Main Street USA - what a lovely sight that is - an empty street just waiting for the first merrymakers to start having fun.
We were finished our breakfast by just after 9.30 so went into Fantasyland looking forward to our first ride on Peter Pan. Noooooo! Technical problem - no Peter Pan.
. We cheered ourself up with a ride on Dumbo and then the Carousel, and then decided we would make our way to the Studios. On the way my daughter had a cuddle and photo with Eeyore and the Genie, so she was very cheery.
I was surprised at how much of the Studio was fenced off due to the building work - I know it is a necessary evil to get the TOT and Toon Studios, but it looks a bit shabby at the mo. We headed for The Tram Tour and had a bit of a queue to get on, but at last we were off. Uh-oh! Technical problem - we couldn't go through Catastrophe Canyon, so it was a comparatively tame tour. We watched Cinemagique, which we loved and then went to Rock'n'Roller Coaster. You can guess what happened - technical problem and it was shut. I was starting to worry that my sister wasn't seeing the best that Disney had to offer, after me telling her how fantastic the whole place was. Instead we watched the Stunt Show, which was very impressive as usual. We were hungry again so had lunch in Studio 1 and then tried RnRC again - hurray - t'was working. Whilst the children went on, my sister and I were amused by Push the trash can coming over and talking to us. (He asked where we were from and then said "The Queen" and blew a big raspberry!).
Next we all went to see Animagique and then departed the Studios for Disneyland Park.
My son went off for multiple rides on Indiana Jones, whilst us girls went on the train, around the Labyrinth and then wandered into Frontierland to meet up at the Silver Spur for our evening meal. It was a lovely, tasty, filling meal, and I was pleased that they do a menu for 11-16 year olds.
After this we split up - the children went twice on Space Mountain and then on BTM (riding well after 7 o'clock) whilst us oldies went on Pirates and IASW and then SHOPPING.
We left the Park about 7.30 and went to the Village for.......some SHOPPING. Well, that holiday money was burning a hole in our pockets and we had to do something about it.
At last we walked back to the Santa Fe. My son was running ahead to hide and jump out on us (yes, he's 14 going on 4) when he got things a bit wrong and jumped out at the wrong family. He was mortified! He couldn't apologise enough but the dad (big and burly) didn't look impressed.
Another early night -we were all exhausted again.
