Well we just got back from a week at Disney/Seaworld/Aquatica, we spent most of our time at Animal Kingdom Villas.

All I can say about AKV is.. WOW Disney sure knows how to do things right! Resort is fantastic, as soon as you enter the lobby, your jaw drops, they do a great job of bringing you into an African paradise. I spent a few mins talking to one of the CMs there who was from Africa, it was great to learn a few things about their culture. We also (my two sons and I) spent one afternoon listening to an African Folktale by the fire, it was amazing!

The resort and our room were clean, and very comfortable. I also visited the fitness center every morning to get a workout in before we hit the parks, the fitness center- just like everything else at AKV- is done right, a first class weight training center, cardio, steam room, and sauna complete with showers, I got a great workout in every morning!

We ate at Maras a few of the mornings, it was very good, and we hit Bomas one evening, the food was very good, and the zebra cakes were as good as advertised.

Overall the weather was perfect, crowds were surprisingly low, and we had a fantastic summer vacation!!!

If you have any questions, fire away!

Great! I'll be at AKV soon, and DS/DS'sGF would like to use the exercise equipment and we didn't know what to tell them, so the good report is good news. We've treated them to massages as well.

Can't wait to hear the stories by the firepit! Thank you for your report.

Bobbi:)

Thanks for the report. I do have a question...Are the African stories around the fire pit appropraite for smaller kids? My boys will be 7, and twins almost 4 when we travel.

TIA

Since you mentioned the work our facilities, I thought you might know. A really dumb question, but what do you wear in the saunas?:confused3

I don't know, maybe sheets are provided...I'm pretty sure that someone will answer before we are there, but if not, I'll find out.

Thanks for the report. I was interested to hear that the crowds weren't too bad. I am looking at taking the family the last week of May next year and staying at AKL.:goodvibes

where is the workout room located at AKL? I am planning on using it nearly every day as well.

Absolutely! Not sure if they do it every time, but for our story, the storyteller handed out authentic african music instruments that could be used by anyone, and we all played them as the story was told. My boys and all the other kids that were present loved it!

It is located right next to the main pool. Just behind the slide. Very easy to find, resort signs get you there easily.

Sounds like you had a good time - can't wait til we go in October!!!
