Itinerary modified due to hurricane: lost two days
Cast: Me (dad) Her (mom), Zoe (3 year old mickey fan), Amanda (3 year old princess fan)
Day One (9/8)
Arrived CVG at 11:00 a.m. It took a little bit of time to get through security since Zoës ankle braces and my cell phone set off the alarm.
Got to the gate to find out about getting new seat assignments. We were supposed to fly on Labor Day but Frances changed things. As a result we were on a new flight and in the back of the plane.
The gate attendant was very helpful and we ended up with a whole row to ourselves. Makes it so nice when flying with twin three year olds.
Picked up food at Wolfgang Pucks and Chic-Fil-A and boarded around 12:15. The flight promptly took off at 12:32.
I have to say that MD-88s are so much nicer than most Boeing jets. With the engines in the tail it was so quiet. Smooth flight almost all the way. And the kids behaved excellently!!!
Arrived On Time and headed to the Avis counter after two potty breaks. Got the car and headed out of the airport. Didnt notice much damage from hurricanes except for a lot of roofs with tarps on them.
We got to the Pop Century around 4 p.m. Check In was slow but we finally got to our room about 40 minutes later. We were in the seventies section.
The rooms are definitely small! We got two rooms but even that is a stretch for four people!
By this time we were starved. Ate at the food court. The girls played with their food since they were so excited about being at Mickeys house. Be sure and avoid the meatloaf. It was a brick!!!!
After supper we played in Goofys splash ground and then went over to the Hippy Dippy Pool. By this time it was back to the room for bed.
