Okay, I thought I might have Disney burn out by now, but the only burning I feel is in my legs! Oh, they're in pain! I'll explain later...
Christine and I hit DL/DCA this past Tuesday. Why? Because we were curious to see how the parks look now that it's off-season and during the week. We arrived early, in through the gate by 9:30. The first thing I noticed was the 50 flower bed is officially gone. Ah, that must have happened either Sunday or Monday night. Wow.
Main Street is very...orange and yellow! Hehe. It's very festive. There is a giant Mickey Pumpkin Head in the middle near the flag pole. It's cute! We headed straight to the edge of Main Street to discover the park wasn't open until 10! EE could get in, though! I had hoped Premiums had some sort of advantage as well! We pay quite a bit for those things!
So, we had to wait till 10 by buzzing around Main Street. And with time to kill, we got our picture in front of the Mickey Pumpkin Head. It came out nice; I was very pleased.
As soon as we were allowed in, we ran as fast as we could over to Space Mountain! Christine overheard an EE person say, "Oh, why did you have to let them in?" to a CM! Jerk! I ignored it and we got to SM in no time. It was so empty, we rode it twice just to get our roller coaster fix..and adrenaline going!
Next, it was off to Indiana Jones. The line said 25 minutes, but a Fast Pass felt handy then. The return time said 11:20-12:20. We got out of line, went on POTC (very short wait!) got the front row, and then went to see the line for BTMRR. Empty as well up until the staircase. We returned to Indiana Jones just in time and then it was off to get food.
We had lunch at the French Market this time. Christine craved Monte Cristo, but I craved the Clam Chowder and I was paying. I won.
We'd have to hit Café Orleans another time.
After eating, it was back on POTC (still not a long wait!) getting the front row again and then we headed over to Splash Mountain. The line bottled up near the boarding zone. So wonderful!
From there, we winded over to Frontierland, jumped on BTMRR again, then headed through Fantasyland and into Mickey's Toontown to ride Roger Rabbit Cartoon Spin. It said a 15 minute wait and it bottled up near the Dip barrels.
Next, our time was running out. We had to be on the road by 3:30 to reach Vista and get Mom from work. We walked over to DCA to only ride Screamin' with only a 20 minute wait. By then, we had to leave. We bought a Dasani Raspberry in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot and left the parks for good.
So, let's see, we did Space Mountain twice, Indiana Jones once, POTC twice, BTMRR twice, Splash Mountain once, Roger Rabbit Cartoon Spin once and Screamin' once. All in five and a half hours. Not bad, I'd say!
And due to running to Space Mountain, my legs have been oh so sore to the touch! Never again and I'm doing that! Running to a ride, that is. I WILL do Space Mountain once more and hundreds of times after! I just won't go running to it!
