Trip Report 10/29-11/5...

Halloween day we decided to stay at the Fort all day and enjoy. We rode bikes to Wilderness Lodge on the trail, the kids all did Mickey Tie-Dye T-shirts....whew...they were expensive (!), but another treat for them, swam at the pool, which was crowded on Sunday, but died down big time by Tuesday ! Had some chicken in the crock and got dressed for trick-or-treat. Everyone was really friendly and so many were dressed up, adults and kids, alike. Some of the campsites were decorated so well,,,it was amazing

My DS was "supposed" to be Peter Pan, but decided to be sit perfectly still while trick-or-treaters came to our site to see if they could tell if he was "real" or not, lol, lol

Monday we went to Universal Studios. We had been there before, but kids wanted to see the new Harry Potter attraction. We were hoping it was LESS crowded than the horror stories we had read about online during the summer. Well, it was crowded, but we didn't wait TOO long for the main attraction ride, maybe 30-40 minutes, it kept moving, but there were just LOTS of people !

It was very grey and cloudy in the morning, but cleared up by afternoon.

Caught the Blues Brothers and what I thought was a NEW Beetlejuice show...corny but cute !

This must have been some of the decos from Horror Night and treated ourselves to dinner before we left. The waitress was great, friendly, explained everything and even asked us some Forest Gump trivia!

I requested 900 as my second choice for Halloween weekend, and I didn't get my first, second, or even third choice!

OK, "fort4vr" here goes...

Tuesday was out day to enjoy the F&W Festival at Epcot, again had never been here during this activity and was looking forward to "tasting" a bunch of new and different things.

Got there @ 10ish I guess, nice crowd, but not too thick with people.

Did Fast Track for the first time, which was neat, the Ellen show on energy.


Here is our "guest" Pablo sporting a sombrero in Mexico

Tasted foods from China, Korea, Germany, and, of course France with some creme brule and the Grand Marnier slushie...we spent a pretty penny with 5 of us 'taste-testing'...but what the heck, we splurged...yet again

Saw the "British Invasion" band in England...they were good!!!!

We endured a good soaking while in Germany that carried over to England and the good ole USA! The CCMs in Germany were such good sports and let us cower under their umbrella for a good 45 minutes,,,what the heck, I bought a very TALL 'beverage' with a souvenir mug to pass the time.

In between eating and drinking, DD had time to be merry with Sleeping Beauty:

We were there some of those same days and it is so weird to read your weather descriptions - like the downpour - and remember where we were.

continuing....so the UGLY that I mentioned was this...after a great day at Epcott, even despite the deluge of RAIN we got hit with for a while, lol, lol we returned to our campsite to find this...

Actually, it looked much worse than this when we found it that night. What a MESS Yes, we were SICK !!! While we were gone, the downpour totally ignored the pitch we had left in case there was rain, and basically snapped our awning support in half right in the middle. We dealt with most of it the next morning. DH cut the canvas and dismantled the support structure, AFTER taking pictures. On top of it the trailer is only 7 months old!

The good news is that it is getting fixed as I write this, and we DID have insurance, thank goodness.

There were a few other random things that happened during our trip, that could have really RUINED the whole "feel good" thing we had going, an errant gas alarm, battery dead...both long storyies, so I'll spare you all, lol, lol. Then I thought I saw a leak from our shower skylight...not sure if condensation, but getting checked too ! Finally, when DH went to the RV dealer, which is who we bought it from, and who is doing the awning replacment, they told us there was a FLAT TIRE on the TT !!!!!!


UNBELIEVABLE right?

Not sure what kind of crazy karma was going on,,,but again, DESPITE all of THAT....we had what we think was our BEST trip to date.

Wednesday we had breakfast scheduled at CHEF MICKEY...yet another "treat" among our supposed "frugal" trip, lol, lol

But got some great pictures with Mickey, Minnie and the gang

Ventured to Downtown Disney after that for some walking, browsing, shopping

Got a family vacation ornament for Christmas and a "few" other things, yikes, Im broke, lol. Littlest DD got a kick out of this very cool, very s-l-o-w moving ANGEL. Did anyone else see her? I could have watched her forever, lol

Passed many of the famous sites at DD too
