Planning does count!
After months of tedious planning, it all paid off. Except for the HOT weather, we had a fabulous trip. Direct flight down was smooth, Tiffany pickup was better than expected (Thanks, Gil!).
Only issue on our first day (mostly my fault) was that I picked the early flight and got to the resort (POFQ) well before a room would be ready. I anticipated this, so we packed the swimsuits in our carryon bags and changed for the pool. I expected the room to be ready by 3, but it was quite a bit later ....
We were at MK on our first full day (what a Father's Day present!) and took advantage of the EMH there. Pretty awesome experience to be able to do the countdown with the CM's for the opening. That first hour was nice. Same for day two, doing the EMH at AK.
Overall, we had a great trip, but the heat/humidity saps your strength very quickly.
Got lucky on a few occasions -- we did Illuminations and Fantasmic early in the trip, and were thankful since towards the end of our trip the shows were cancelled several nights in a row due to thunderstorms.
The highlight (for me at least) was doing the KttK tour. Amazing experience seeing the utilidors. Very unique experience being "offstage" behind main street, and then walking "on" to main street.
Well, once the credit cards are paid off :-( I'll start thinking about our next trip.
