DH and I are headed to CA in August for 8 nights, flying into San Francisco. This is our first trip to the west coast (and if DH doesn't 
it, probably our last).
As things stand now, our trip is in two parts, 4 nights in the Yosemite area (we have reservations in Mariposa) and 4 nights in San Rafael.
In doing some research, I'm thinking that we really won't need 4 nights in Yosemite. We aren't big hikers and so I'm really thinking that 2 days might be enough to hit the highlights.
So the questions are, do we cut the Yosemite leg down to 2 days and then spend the other 2 days out near Monterey or Santa Cruz, or somewhere else? or keep the 4 days at Yosemite? And if we stay in the Yosemite area, where else should we explore?
