Trip planning question

A friend of mine's family is going to DW for the first time and they've asked me to help them plan it. I've been so many times and have purchased everything separately (i.e. resort, tickets, etc.), but I've never flown to DW, always drove. My question is this: Should I have them purchase everything separately, thereby getting the best deals, or is there a price advantage to going thru a travel agent and getting a package deal which includes air, hotel and tickets?

They are planning on going in April and will be doing the parks for 3 or 4 days.

I have bought tickets together and directly from Disney. It is not any cheaper when purchased separately and I have not known it to be less expensive going through a travel agent. That is only my experience though.

My advice is to get them to buy air separately. Fly out of Buffalo if they can. It's MUCH cheaper flying SouthWest with lots of "deals" happening all the time.
