I am planning a trip for my 8yo DS at the end of August. (just mom and son). We also have some family in Daytona Beach (Port Orange) and could possibly be disowned if I just flew down to Disney and didn't visit the family. And anyway....they are across the street from the Beach and that just can't be beat.

I am hoping to fly down Sunday August 22 and fly home August 27th. (School starts on the 30th.) I would like to do 3 days in the parks and one day around Disney to explore the other resorts (enjoy our own resort) and go to DTD and such. Should I plan on
following this schedule:
Fly down Sunday early and arrive at Resort and relax..explore other resorts etc.
Then go to the parks on Mon. Tues. Wed
Then go to Daytona for Thursday and Friday
(this would require driving over after a full day at parks)

OR

Should I fly to MCO Sunday morning and then drive right over to Daytona
Then back to WDW early Tues morning for early check in and the parks on Tues Wed Thurs. and then explore WDW on Friday before I fly home in the late afternoon/early evening?

Also....I sure am hoping to get my hands on those ellusive 3-day park hopper passes!

Thank you,
Cindy Z in CT
Go UCONN!!

Hello fellow Nutmegger!

UCONN 3-peats!!! Amazing season for both the women and men.

I would follow scenario #2. I think that visiting relatives and the beach would be nice and relaxing. Visiting WDW on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday would probably be less crowded then. I find the weekends to be jammed! I also like your idea of resort hopping on Friday before you leave for home. Driving to Daytona after a full day at the parks might be just too much.

Enjoy your planning!

Which parks are you planning on doing??? Also, if you go to Daytona at the end of the trip, do you have to drive back to MCO for your flight? The drive to Daytona (regardless of when you do it) won't be too bad--- 1 hr at the most usually. Either way you're doing the parks on all weekdays-- which will be nice any way you cut it.
