I am planning a family trip to Walt Disney World for July 2004. We have decided that we would really like to stay at the Yacht Club, but now have to decide what kind of room we would like/need and how to cost-effectively secure that room.

First question...what are the benefits of going with concierge? Is it truly worth the additional cost? We would probably only use it for the breakfasts and possibly evening snacks/desserts, as well as the beverages.

Second question...how do we find out the Annual Passholder's rates? I only found out about this concept a few days ago, and I have no idea how to go about getting these cheap room rates. Please, walk me through the process...

Thanks so much for your help!

Welcome!

Question 1: I've never been able to justify the cost of concierge

Question 2: Try mousesavers.com they usually have great information on AP rates. You can also book through someone like DreamsUnlimited. They'll book the room and then when AP rates come out they will try and get them for you. I've always gotten them that way. Best part...you pay the balance when you arrive!

Quite honestly, concierge will not save you money. It's an expensive extra service, and dollar-for-dollar you're further ahead to go without it. However, it is a great experience to add to your vacation. :)

We've never stayed at the Yacht Club, but have stayed at the Beach Club. For us, the water views just aren't worth it over the price of the standard. Now, at the Polynesian or Grand Floridian, I'd have to tell you that it would be worth it to upgrade from garden to lagoon view. ;)

Have a great trip! July is a great time to visit, we try to go then every couple years. :)

WELCOME:wave: , and ditto what Cali said.

Just wanted to add that besides Mousesavers, usually a thread will start on this board as a watch for when the AP rates actually come out. There is one right now for the most recent rates they released and you could take a look and get a feel for what people are getting.

If your trip will include the 4th of July know that AP rates at the deluxes will probably start on that day.

Good Luck & Happy Planning::yes::
