Trip of Extremes and Dreams! Tons of Pics! 11/30 -12/10 Update Highlight to the End

YAA! I haven't been able to post but I am hoping it is fixed now. I loved all of your pins! And your lizard friend is crazy!! :rotfl: My 12 year old son wishes we had car riding lizards here in Maryland! ;)

It's getting close.:goodvibes Does the Sports Authority have an on-line store? The only store that's close is Wal-mart.:sad2:

Unfortunately, no :confused3 Wal-mart already carries some Disney merchandise, they should certainly know Body Glide is a part of that! :rotfl2: I would recommend Ebay!

Next up for the gecko (or whatever he is ...): Space Mountain!!! :rotfl2:

(... which - depending on how you drive - could be a letdown ... :lmao:)

Back to pins: I picked up a few starter lanyards - with 2 pins - at the Disney store for only about $3 each ...

I use one to hold my ID at work (and people are starting to notice ...):thumbsup2 so I'll have to add a pin or two after our Dec trip ...

But the main reason I got them (really!!) is for the DD - she'll be 5, and maybe she'll get into the whole pin trading thing ... (or not - which means more for me ... pirate: ... )

Glad to hear you're feeling better ... (go percoset!! ... :rainbow: )

I saw a girl at the grocery store today with a lanyard for her ID. Very cool!!

Aww, your little girl is so cute! I can imagine she'll really get into the pins. :wizard:

Hi, Heidi!!! :wave2: Glad to see you're back!

DS feels the same way about the lanyards. Too hot, too heavy, gets in the way. He'll wear it for a bit, then, who does he hand it off to? You guessed it. Mama.

Love love love the lizard pics! How funny was that? I couldn't imagine driving with that on my windshield. I probably would have turned the wipers on, just to see him fly through the air! :lmao: :rotfl: OK - now you can call the lizard police on ME!!!

I"ll let the chicken thing slide this time. Then we'll be even.

Miss you, Sweeite!

Gotta Go! Vikings are playing!

Love - Barb

Hi Barb!

I just can't imagine wearing the lanyard although DD is very disappointed in me! :scared1: But you know, she can represent that side of our family and I'll just go around looking cute! :cutie: :rotfl:

I have to admit I did think of turning on the wipers but that lizard was sorta cute and he was holding on for dear life! Plus, his family might be near my yard and I didn't want to separate them! :lmao:

I'm so glad to be getting on my feet again!!!

OMG Heidi that was one brave lizard :rotfl:

I agree with lanyards, I can't even wear one which has no pins on (so lighter) for long it annoys my neck! My DD's bought pin bags and as they zip up the pins never fell off and got lost :thumbsup2

Hi Jo!

What are pin bags? I don't think I've ever heard of them. I just can't get over the pins. I don't think I really looked at them before we won the lanyards and I was so thrilled with all the detail and the humor in some of them. DD keeps wanting to buy me more (cuz she has soooo much more than me! :rotfl2: ) but I am really happy with the ones I have! I was going to trade (one trade only!) the Rock N' Roller Coaster Mickey after I thought I could never go on that ride again, but now that I know I can -- I'm keeping him cuz ..... say it with me, Olivia .... he rocks!! :rotfl: :lmao:

Yikes, that is one adventurous lizard! I am amazed that a) he stayed on your car the whole time and b) you were able to get pictures of him on there! When we used to visit my grandfather in Ft. Lauderdale his backyard was basically some grass and then a canal and there were some HUGE lizards in and around it. I was always afraid his dog was going to get eaten or something :scared1: Those things looked like like mini-dinosaurs, and I wouldn't go in the yard when I saw them. :scared:

Hi Ashley!

I was shocked he was still on the car when I pulled back into the driveway! I haven't seen him since!! :rotfl2:

I guess Ft. Lauderdale is having a problem with all the iguanas because there are so many. I've heard they attack small dogs and anything that comes out of them is toxic ....... :lmao: Ewww!! But they are cool to watch, I have to say and they do look like dinosaurs!

Your son would love my wild kingdom backyard!!! Diva used to walk right past them like they didn't exist or that she was too good to notice them! :rotfl:

I know I've said it before, but, ewwwwwwww. Those crawly things just get to me. :scared1:

:snooty: :thumbsup2 Alright, Diva!! My kind of dog!

DS thought it would be fun to see the lizard fly through the air, too.

p.s. I owe you an e-mail.
p.p.s Did you notice I "multi-quoted"? I'm so proud! :cheer2:

Since DM started this here PTR, we've made quite a few changes to our days and dining choices (do we ever stop? :lmao: ) and I wanted to share them with you! Nothing is ever set in stone with us on vacation, but I imagine this is pretty accurate. This is our third year on the basic Dining Plan, we love it, wouldn't have it any other way. Unless we were on the DELUXE Dining Plan of course :upsidedow

Day 1: Sunday, November 30
We're going to pull out of our driveway a little after 7:00 am. At this, we should get a welcome greeting from our friends at the WDW sign sometime around 10:00 am.
100_1174.jpg

And then our first sight of Port Orleans French Quarter!! :goodvibes Last year with our free upgrade in the perfect location (literally a 15 second walk to the pool and lobby, both!) I requested either building two or three earlier this year, but we'll see what happens. Either way, you can't go wrong on Disney property! ;)
100_1209.jpg

We'll check-in and then park wherever our room is located, then hop on the boat and sail down the Sassagoula River to Downtown Disney for lunch at Earl of Sandwich, a first for us, the boat ride and the CS meal. Then we're going to get either the boat or bus back to French Quarter and enjoy a full afternoon at the resort just soaking up that first-day spirit! We'll unpack and walk along the river and pathways between the buildings, browse Jackson Square gift shop, sit by the pool and get unpacked for our home the next eleven days :wizard: Around 4:30 or so it's onto a Magic Kingdom bus, followed by the highway in the sky to the Grand Floridian! :cloud9:
100_1215.jpg

We love the lobby, especially at Christmas. We're just going to sit and enjoy it, admire the ginger bread house and tree, listen to the music. Then we're going to monorail-it-over to the Contemporary for our 6:40 pm reservation at Chef Mickey's!

Day 2: Monday, December 1st

Day 5: Thursday, December 4th
2nd Magic Kingdom + MVMCP day

Day 9: Monday, December 8th
3rd Magic Kingdom day
- we're dining at Cosmic Ray's twice for lunch and dinner! :lmao: Most might find this repetitive, but there are so many options here and we love it, why not? :confused3
- Extra Magic Hours

Day 10: Tuesday, December 9th
3rd Epcot day
- it's sacrilegious not to take the monorail to Epcot at least once on vacation, so this is likely to be the day we do it! I love that monorail ride through Future World!
- 12:00 pm Rose and Crown for lunch
- 7:00 pm Tutto Italia for dinner

Day 11: Wednesday, December 10th
2nd MGM day
- express check-out, load up the car with our bags and drive over to MGM
- breakfast will be at Starring Rolls
- lunch and dinner are up for debate.....we know it will be on MGM property and a CS, it's likely to be Rosie's All American Cafe or Toy Story Pizza Planet. Neither of us are too fond of MGM's CS :lmao:
Last thing we do at Disney before the drive home?
- FANTASMIC! :smickey: (6:30 pm, I believe)
- Afterward, we'll pick out our Photopass pictures we want and then venture onto I-4 :sad2: and head home. If we're on the road by 7:30, we should pull into our driveway sometime before 11:00 pm.
For some reason I don't like the very ending :confused3

Sounds like a GREAT itinerary. Love the first day's activities, just lounging around, enjoying the atmosphere.

I see you are going to 50's Prime Time. Be careful so they don't put you in the corner!!!! :lmao: Been there, done that!!! Ahh, the memories......

The first time I took DD to 50's Prime Time, it was her birthday and I think she was 8 or 9. She had no idea about what went on there. She was in total shock with a completely crazy waiter who was all over the place. I caught it all on video ..... and then .... lost the whole 2 hour tape of all Disney in the great VHS Explosion/Toss Out of 2006. :guilty: :sad1: :sad2: :scared1: I can't even stand to think about it!

Good job on the multi-quoting!!!!! I'm very proud of you!!

And YES, you owe me an email!! :rotfl: :surfweb:

DD and I got this from Jay today! She is having a wonderful time at Disney with her family!!!

I decided to let the Beast pose with it since he's one of her favorites and is still in Barb's clothes!! :rotfl2:

Heidi here's a photo of a pinbag, I just found it on photobucket so it's a DL one not a WDW but they look the same. It has a zip all the way round and opens up to show about 4 layers of fabric stuff (I'm good at describing :rotfl2: ) and you put your pins on them :thumbsup2

Hey, everyone! :3dglasses I'm writing to you a mere thirty minutes away from Disney World! Friday morning I took the Amtrak train to Orlando (a three hour drive turned into a seven hour train ride :confused3 ) to visit my boyfriend who goes to school in the area, and here I am, so close yet so far! :rotfl2: I did have one Disneyish encounter though. As I was getting off the train there was a family all wearing mouse ears with lots of those YOAMD bags in hand! :goodvibes Our trip is getting so close, I can smell it.

Well, I'll be in Orlando with 'the boyfriend' through next Sunday, but I'll be around with another update later in the week! :thumbsup2
