On the way to Main Street, we had a couple cool things happen. First of all, they have these wierd characters in Tomorrowland that are alien-like and on stilts. They were out, so we stopped and looked at them and took pictures. Then, as we were crossing the bridge, DH wanted to stop and take pictures of the castle and while I waited, there was an older woman dressed as Tink meandering through the rose garden. It made me happy - first of all, seeing a little fairy in the garden was cute and made me happy, but also seeing it be an older, not so perfect looking Tink made me happy too. Here she was getting to be a pretty little fairy in WDW regardless of her age. This was one of my favorite moments on this trip. It made me feel good. I sat in a Main Street spot for the parade while DH went to get some food. I love this part of the Halloween party, because you get to see so many costumes just sitting on Main Street. My favorite this year was a family that was Mario Brothers - they had Mario, Luigi, a mushroom headed guy and a princess. It was so cute! Next to me while I waited was a cute kid dressed as Superman that started up a conversation with me about his superman toys at home too. He was really cute and entertained me for a bit. Then DH reappeared with our food. The best part about this parade was that I was not the cut-through person! EVERY TIME we sit down for the parades at WDW, I somehow am the person that everyone climbs over to get past the lines of people waiting. Always me. I got to laughing this time, because for the first time, it was the lady on the other side of DH. It was brilliant...not for her, but for me it was wonderful!! DH and I then ate our yummy corn dog bites and fries. For those of you who have not had Casey's, they have the BEST hot dogs and corn dog bites. Casey's is one of our traditions. While we were eating, we discussed costumes, and why some people choose to wear some of the things they wear, in addition to why they let their children wear some of the things they wear.

Oh well, it's their perrogotive(did I spell that right?). We kind of listened to the Villian show, but it was too far away to really see anything, so I tried to ignore it so I wouldn't want to go rush and see it. I really loved the villian show last year with the Big Bad Wolf as the DJ...it cracked me up. Unfortunately, as we waited, we also had an extremely rude family squeeze between us and the family next to us. There was barely room for a child, and the women pushed 2 into the spot...then after a minute, one of the mom's needed to feed her baby, so she pushed the children over more so she could sit and feed the baby, and somehow the other mom fit in their too. Where there had been barely enough room for 2 children, they fit 2 children, two adults, and a baby. The other family MUST have moved down to avoid being crushed, because we were by a trash can with no where to go. Plus, the grandfather with them was extremely loud and obnoxious, complaining about everything and having a conversation about thongs as he spit on those in front of him (me). Ahh, so magical.

Anyway, the parade said expanded on the map so I was excited to see what was new - they added a pirate float with Jack Sparrow on top, and they added a new float for Goofy that pumps out a candy smell as it passes...oh yummy it smelled good!!!
After the parade, the fireworks were supposed to only be about 30-45 min. later, so we immediately found a spot standing in the middle of the road, which I hate, but DH insists on it for pictures. While we waited, there was some good old southern boys in front of us with their family that made us laugh, being from the south ourselves. One of the men kept teasing his family about a spider going up the side of the castle and apparently really scared them once and was just teasing them now. It was hysterical, but I don't think I could do it justice trying to type it out on computer. So.....we waited....and we waited....and it was 9:30 time to start, and we waited....and we waited....and FINALLY at 9:45 they started....and their lights on the castle were messed in one corner. DH didn't notice, but I am a theatre person, so I notice things like lighting and little details a little more sometimes. It was just all mixed up, like when it was supposed to be the Big Bad Wolf, it was a big blank circle of light, or when it was supposed to be Jafar, there was a circle of pattern, and when it should have been a pattern, it was the Big Bad Wolf. That sort of thing. Every time it changed it wasn't wrong, sometimes it was right, then it was wrong again, then it would be right a few times, then wrong. It was strange. I'm guessing that had something to do with why they were late, but who knows. It could have been something bigger than that.
After the fireworks, I was tired and pretty well ready to go back to the hotel. We were going to 2 parties on this trip and the agreeement was that we would not push ourselves our first night and be exhausted the whole trip because of it. Dh wanted to get a Dole Whip. We had never had a Dole Whip. So we walked to Adventureland....well, we attempted to walk, but it was more like waiting and wading and squeezing and barely making it through to anywhere. Did I mention how crowded this
MNSSHP was?? It was sold out, which shouldn't mean much. We've been to several sold out parties before, but I think they sold more tickets this year...it was wild. So we get to Aloha Isle and I sit down. DH brings the messy, messy Dole Whips that are melting all over the place. They are an extremely refreshing snack. I felt a lot better after eating mine (part of mine). While I was eating, I sort of dug out a hole, as they are hollow inside. And I said "Enter the Cave of Wonders" in my best scary voice. DH was like, what?? Explaining jokes like that take away a lot from the humor....oh well. Then I tried to take pictures, but they didn't come out very well. Then DH tore it apart to eat some of mine. Oh well....it was funny in my head anyway.

DH wanted to try to catch the Headless Horseman again, so we were going to wait a little bit and try to get a picture again before we left. While we were right there beside it, we walked through the Adventureland Candy Trail thing. Then we went to find a spot to see the HH. Once we had done that, we started to leave, and DH wanted to take pictures from the Train Station, so we went up there. As we walked up, 2 people got up from their seats and decided to go somewhere else, so we ended up with seats, so of course, DH wanted to stay for the parade. While we waited, the CMs with carts paraded through ahead of the actual parade. They danced and sang and waved and had a good old time. A couple older CMs were dancing too from their positions on the sides of the street. It was cute. Then we watched the parade up to the pirate float I think, then rushed out to beat the crowds. We took the monorail back to our car, and went to bed!
