Just returned from a 2 day trip with some of my friends. Last year one of my friends from home drove me down to SoCal to help move me in to school and in exchange I took him to DLR. Well, he raved about our trip to our other friends so this year we were a group of 4. Here are some of my observations:
-Stayed at the Carousel Inn on the 18th. It was nice, a little small but whatever. I'd never stayed there before. Got a great deal with the MiceChat rate (dare I say that name on these boards?
). Breakfast was nothing spectacular but it totally worked for us. The breakfast room has an incredible view of both DL and DCA!
-Experienced 48 attractions during our 2 full days. Also saw WoC, Magical, Fantasmic, Aladdin, and both parades. Collected a lot of FP but often we didn't need to use them. The parks were not crowded.
-Saturday was, surprisingly, more crowded than Sunday. I never saw a line longer than 30 min for anything outside of Cars Land yesterday. We got ToT FPs in the morning to use when the line got long in the afternoon. We literally walked on in the stand-by line around 12:45PM.
-Luigi's doesn't have the beach balls anymore. Didn't really make a big difference to the ride, although it probably speeds up the load/unload process just a little bit. One thing that I didn't know is that they don't open up the entrance to Cars Land from A Bug's Land until 8:15. I thought we could beat the crowds by going around that way but nope...
-The tractors are tipping again in RSR! Glad that the effect is back.
-It was HOT!
Good thing, over the course of both of our days, we got 3 surprise FPs to GRR from the RSR FP machines.
-Glad Indy will be down in the fall. The rolling ball still isn't working up to what it should be, the fire effects weren't all working, and some of the skeletons weren't popping out. A couple months to sort these effects out and hopefully make the ride a little more reliable should be exactly what this ride needs.
-Walls have already gone up around the old FL stage in the back, although the Princess Fantasy Faire sign is still up. The new area where you can meet the princesses is not very shaded or covered, which looked to be an issue, especially the past few days.
-I can confirm that Screamin and Roger Rabbit are still disconnected. As for RSR FPs, on day 1 we got in line at 8:15AM, waited 25 min and got return times of 12:30PM-1:30PM. On our second day, we rode Luigi's before getting in line for RSR FPs, so we got in line more around 8:35 and waited about 20 min. Our return time was 3:20-4:20. It is VERY doable to do a DCA attraction first thing in the morning and then still get a RSR FP (although the return time will be most likely in the mid-afternoon range).
Overall it was an amazing trip. My friends loved it. Now I'm back in LA and ready for school to start next week! Now onto some pics...
Mr. Incredible in the PPP. It's awesome that the parade route is so long because it's not hard to find a good front row spot somewhere.

And Star Tours broke down right before we got in, the group before us was pissed they rode the whole ride in the dark. One guy said he felt like a frog in a blender
