Trip Observations 2/5/11

[DLR29]

Hi everybody. I just had one of the most successful days at DLR yesterday in terms of getting a ton of stuff done. Thought I would like to share some of the stuff that we did.

-Got there at opening. Used the "Don't have MM trick" that I talk about in the MM super thread, so we were right at the front of one of the lines.

-Rode 25 rides. Space, Indy, and ToT x2; Screamin x3. Then in no particular order: JC, Pirates, HM, BTMRR, All of the FL dark rides except Alice, Matterhorn, Roger Rabbit, Buzz, DL Railroad (from NOS to TT and from TL to M:S), Monster's Inc, Soarin, GRR and Toy Story!

-Used 7 sets of FP

-Saw World of Color (blue section towards the back, great view of the scope of the show) and Fantasmic! (although the dragon did not work...)

-Buzz FP is closed right now, and I've heard that the machines will now be used for ST2 in the near future. So BLAB had a lengthy line all day, and since we couldn't use FP, we waited until the end of the day to ride.

-Soarin broke down right as we got to the part of the show with the fireworks. They offered to let us ride again but we declined because we had basically seen the whole ride.

-Was/still exhausted after doing all of that in 14 hours of straight park touring.

Overall, it was a great day! Here are some pics:

So...I got to be "Best of today!" Never been that before, although I'm sure my score got beat pretty quickly. Still

Sounds like you did have a successful day at DL!! 25 rides is great! Thanks for posting the photos! I'll never understand the long waits for Roger Rabbit.

What an awesome day! I wonder how many miles you put on your shoes for the day. You should wear a pedometer next time you do a marathon day like that. That would be interesting.

Now I'm going to go read your MM thread, as I'm not familiar with the trick you referenced.

Sounds like a wonderful day. I wanted to be there so bad yesterday for my birthday. Oh well still have a few weeks to wait. Your pictures are great. I've been thinking lately and now I have a fear that someone is going to end up dropping a camera or something and I'll get hit with it on a ride like Screamin, BTMRR, SM, Matterhorn etc etc. I'm guilty of taking pictures on rides too...I just hope others are holding onto them as tight as I do.

Wow - no Fastpasses for Buzz Lightyear? It sounds like this is not a temporary change, and I will miss them for sure! We love this ride and try to ride multiple times each trip, which will be much harder to do without Fastpasses.

Wow 25 rides and 14 hours! I was at the park on the same day and I only road 5 rides, but I didn't stay nearly as long as you did. It has been a while since I've been at DL so I was mostly exploring the park and taking in the new sites. I also spent hours shopping on Main Street and exploring Downtown Disney. I'll be returning in less than two weeks to explore California Adventure.

How did you feel about the treillis in Paradise Park? I ask since it's in your WoC photo. Should it stay or go?

Wow! I have NEVER seen that long of a wait for Rodger Rabbit!!!
Everytime I have gone it's been 10 minutes or less, even during busy days! How weird.

How did you feel about the treillis in Paradise Park? I ask since it's in your WoC photo. Should it stay or go?

1. Yes, RR's FP is disconnected. Got its FP right after getting a Space FP.

2. I thought that the trellis would impede our view much more than it actually did. It was my first time seeing the show from that far back and I loved it! So it wasn't a big deal at all.
