I went for a day last Friday with my mother. She flew in around 8:30 and we got to DLR (after checking into the Tropicana and buying our new APs
) by 10:30. Overall, it was an excellent day. Here are some notes:
-I love how you don't have to go to a special "AP processing center" anymore to get your picture taken. You can just go to any PhotoPass person in the park and they'll take your picture for you. Don't know how long they've been doing this, but it's new for us.
-Rode 15 rides (in less than 10 hours of park time) and used 6 sets of FP. Didn't see any shows. We got WoC FPs but I met up with 2 of my friends from school and gave them to them.
-BTMRR FPs are disconnected. We got SM:GG FPs, rode Buzz, and then got BTMRR FPs. It was wonderful.
-Friday night is Mickey's Trick or Treat Party at DL, which meant that the park closed at 7. They were really checking wristbands and making sure that the only people in the park were those who had special event tickets. BUT, that meant that EVERYONE went over to DCA. It was so crowded at DCA after 7pm. Monster's Inc. had a 35 minute line (using the outdoor queue)!
ElecTRONica was poppin! We waited an hour for Toy Story during the first WoC show. It's bizarre to think that these types of crowds may be more normal come Carsland.
-Strange to see the pumpkins around the Partner's statue with snow on the castle in the background. Love Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy! Had long lines all day. Such a cool overlay. It was my mom's first time seeing it.
-Can't see much Buena Vista Street construction from the monorail because they put up walls, but Carsland looks REALLY cool! Can't wait!
-Star Tours' line was only about 30-50 minutes all day and FPs were still being distributed in the early afternoon. The "rush" has gone down a bit.
-Got a high score on Buzz! I actually was ranked for the day! See pic below. It's cause we got stopped and I must have shot a diamond target at least 20 times in a row. But still, I had one of my best Buzz rides ever. Unfortunately, I didn't have my best Toy Story ride. Oh well.
Only a couple pics this time:
