Trip Number Ten ~ We're Going Again! Plus a side trip!

Not to hijack but there are so many ups and downs when you're a Disney Vacation Specialist (I prefer that over the title TA). It is usually friends and family that are the hardest to deal with. I have a friend that has asked me for quotes on two different occasions. Priced out so many options, different dates, etc. Followed up many times and never heard back. Months pass and then I see all her vacation pics on Facebook. The first time I was kind of hurt; second time..I learned my lesson!

I have learned to just move on, but it still hurts a little. The people that do book with me are very appreciative of everything I do for them and that makes me happy. Hearing about how my tips/itineraries helped them during their trip and they could just relax is why I do this job!

Like you, I also have a lot of people who continue to refer me to their friends, family and co-workers and give me lots of support.

Yeah, I guess that's all we can do is appreciate the people who do support us and move on. It sure has shown some people's true colors though.

Here's one of my personal favorites -- My neighbor booked her WDW trip with someone else.... And then asked us to dog sit while they are there!!

It is hard at times. Some days I LOVE the job and other days it is just very discouraging. Exactly what you said - I don't think people consider the time involved. And then yes, the demanding and rude ones!



So, yes -- 11 DAYS!!! That's crazy!! I need to pack!!!!!!!!!!!

Which is exactly why I told you NOT to spend a lot of time on my very wish-washy vacation!

Oh geez, I hope I'm not one of the demanding and rude ones!

Oh boy---- it's crazy that so many of you who are in the travel business have had the same experiences. It's sad that people do what they do and then expect no repercussions from it.
I would imagine that friends and family and even neighbors (omg-- that story ab the dog, Shelly!!--- what a dang dumb behind!) would be the worst. Saying one thing one minute then turning right around and doing another.

Anyway--- I hope that business picks up and you get good returning clients. I know it's probably hard for people who are used to booking it all themselves- but how nice it is to not have to stress over getting a good deal! I'm very much looking forward to that aspect of using your agency!

So--- moving on...

Are you planning on showing us what you've been buying for the trip???? If I can't shop anymore myself (who am I fooling?) I want to see what you've bought!!

It makes me feel a little better that I'm not the only one it has happened to, but at the same time it makes me sad for the other TA's, because I know how frustrating and hurtful it is.

That's just it - I'm the type of person who expects people to keep their word. That's all. I do it. It's not hard.


So anyway - yeah I need to get some shopping pics up!!! Actually I need to stop shopping! I just told you yesterday that I was done. And where did I end up this morning - at the outlet mall!

Wow 10 DAYS!!!! So exciting!!


You will be so proud Jodi - I packed the kids shirts yesterday!! But not their shorts yet. If I pack 10 pairs of shorts for each of them they will be sitting here in their underwear for the next week and a half!

I've started to piece together some of my outfits. But haven't packed anything yet. I need to take some pics and get them on here!

I think I'll pack DH's shirts today.... I actually have less packing than usual. Don't need any jackets, sweatshirts, pants, etc. Plus since we will have the rental car for the few days at the beach we can pick up our water, pop, and snacks when we are down there. So I think we are going to get away with one piece of checked luggage!

Was out meeting with a client this morning! A very good client!! She booked 3 WDW trips (her family, her parents, and her inlaws) and 3 cruises, plus referred me to a friend who I think is going to book a WDW trip!!

What the heck are draws???

I hope we can do just one piece of checked luggage! That will be so nice. Especially since we are being charged for each checked piece. You should be able to cut down on the luggage with one less kid, shouldn't you??

Funny, I am just now getting my email telling us that we have been chosen to participate in the Magic+ test run!! It tells me to customize my bands and they will be shipped to me 3 days before I leave. I've had them for weeks! And to pick my FP+ choices. Already did this weeks ago too!

DD's gymnastics coach just told me that her dance students are going to Orlando to be in a half time bowl parade for some big football game in December. She wants me to give quotes to anyone interested in staying at Disney while they are there. So far there are 12 families going, so keep your fingers crossed for me that some of them will want to stay at Disney (and will actually book with me after I spend all that time working with them ).

Oh, and I know exactly what draws are.
